Reservoir loop including Pleasant St hill and the Crusher. Although I just got my road bike serviced, the front derailleur wouldn't go to the small ring, so I huffed and puffed up the steep hills. First road ride since the winter thaw. It was delightful when, with no cars ahead or behind, I could hear the plink-plick-pleah of water coursing down the rocks of the cascades into the reservoir, even before the cascade came into sight.

Beaver Brook in Waltham, from the dog park east in a big loop. Ground was mostly firm enough, only squishy in a couple of small points. However, I was too cold to go much longer. Fingertips and ears were overexposed. Saw 3 or 4 other mountain bikers, so that's reassuring.

Brown course from November's NEOC meet at Prospect Hill. Did the course in a bit over 30 minutes for 2.6x km. The rest was cooldown back to the car. A bobble in the circle on #1 (parallel feature), some confusion with the wrong control description on #5 (reentrant shown, but I had suggested a change to the more definitive cliff). I found a little stream on the west edge of the park that I had never encountered before, going straightish from 6 to 7.
