When I pulled into the parking lot today my first thought was that my best next course of action would be to immediately pull back out of the parking lot and drive back to Altamont. I just really couldn't imagine going out and running 90+ minutes. I was too exhausted and had too much wedding planning on my mind. Luckily I decided that it was okay to run a shorter course, because orienteering is fun and I should do fun things, and finishing a shorter course would be more fun than no course or DNFing a long course.

Brown at O in the Pines

After I recovered from seriously overrunning the (should-have-been) trivial first control I had a good time. Discipline improved throughout the course and I enjoyed the contrast from yesterday, flatter terrain with lots more low-vis areas. Far less rocky but some areas were pretty junky on the ground. The combination of the two sides of the road makes for a good test of many different orienteering skills.
