Sunday Jun 29

Row 21:00 [3] 4.1 km (5:07 / km)

Saturday Jun 28

Cycling 1:10:00 [3]
We were going to do Gates Pass but we got a late start. Way too hot. We turned around at the top of Anklam and came back. Probably just in time, ill-effects of the heat were kicking in.

Friday Jun 27

Running (easy) 31:00 [2] 3.1 mi (10:00 / mi)
Around campus with Melissa.

Thursday Jun 26

Cycling 2:00:00 [2]
To the Mission via Mission with Melissa.
Note
Okay, lowered the seat, shin hurts not. Chizz. I think I'm good for running again.

Tuesday Jun 24

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]
To Saguaro East via Old Spanish Trail.
Note
So, the riding seems to have irritated my shin. "Bicycling Medicine" suggests that a seat that is too high may cause shin splints. I raised my seat two weeks ago. My shins have been bothering me for two weeks. Coincidence? Probably not, since I don't seem to have that problem with running. I'll have to lower my seat back down a cm or so and see if that helps.

Monday Jun 23

Row 21:00 [3] 4 km (5:15 / km)
Felt good, even if it was a bit warm inside...(stoopid swamp cooling!)
Note
I think my shin hurts almost none! That's good news. I'll plan on a hearty ride tomorrow and if there's no annoyance at all then I'll plan to run again Wed.

Sunday Jun 22

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]
Starr Pass with Melissa.
Note
Shin slit hurts. Bummer.

Saturday Jun 21

Cycling (easy) 1:00:00 [2]
Broadway with Melissa.

Wednesday Jun 18

Running (easy) 21:00 [2]
(injured)
Easy evening running at Reid. My shins hurt. Even after all that resting. I guess I should hold off even longer on the running. I'm not sure how much riding I'll do given me quirky knee so maybe I should get some erging in.

Sunday Jun 15

Orienteering 2:06:00 [3] 6.6 km (19:05 / km) +175m 16:51 / km

Red day 2 at Mt. Pinos

Saturday Jun 14

Orienteering 2:01:00 [3] 6.6 km (18:20 / km) +175m 16:11 / km

Red day 1 at Mt. Pinos.

Red - Splits

Tuesday Jun 10

Running (easy) 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
At Reid Park with four 30 second strides.

Monday Jun 9

Cycling (easy) 1:20:00 [2]
Pima with Melissa. Felt a little queezy this morning. Not sure why...food? I think I ate plenty yesterday, but maybe not. Perhaps this new boost in activity is catching up to me and I don't realize it. No problem, I'll just eat more. ;-)
Running (easy) 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Around the neighborhood with Melissa.

Sunday Jun 8

Cycling 2:15:00 [3]
Swan - Sunrise - First Ave loop with Melissa. I forgot how much fun Sunrise/Skyline was...and either I'm a better climber than I used to be or Swan is a lot less steep than I remember...
Strength/Core 10:00 [1]
Abs and 7-pyramid...oops, I guess I should stick with this then for a little bit).

Saturday Jun 7

Running (trail) 43:00 [3] 2.5 mi (17:11 / mi) +165m 8:52 / km
Trail run up on Mt. Lemmon. Tried the Marshall Gulch Trail. Only went as far as the intersection with Aspen Trail. It was a little more "up" than I had expected. I was intending to do a long run but I think the length I did was good, considering the shock to my system that the climb was. Felt great on the way back (duh, I was going down) but I was glad I hadn't gone longer because the down was also a shock to my system. I need to find something a wee bit flatter if I'm going to try long runs up there.

Friday Jun 6

Cycling (easy) 2:10:00 [2]
Broadway to Freeman and back with Melissa. Her first 25+ mile ride. I think she'll be ok for RAGBRAI.
Running (easy w/strides) 30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Around the neighborhood. Either it wasn't as hot today as it has been or wearing a hat is very effective...(?)

Wednesday Jun 4

Running (easy) 45:00 [2] 4.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
Reid park. Tried to keep my "cadence" high.
Strength/Core 10:00 [1]
Abs and pyramid (6). Stick with 6 for another 2-3 sessions.

Tuesday Jun 3

Cycling 1:46:00 [3]
A little more intense than yesterday - moderate hills. Went St. Mary's to Greasewood (N) to Speedway to Anklam and then Starr Pass loop back to 6th.

Monday Jun 2

Cycling (easy) 1:03:00 [2]
Easy up Mountain and a little loop and back with Melissa.
Running (easy) 21:00 [2]
A little jaunt around the neighborhood.

Sunday Jun 1

Running (intervals) 37:30 [4]
Through campus and up Mountain. Ran 10 minutes warm up, 1 min on, 1 min off, 2 on, 1 off, 3 on, 1 off and back down, easy back home. Was going to go up to 4 or 5 orginally but I got a late start - too close to sunset. It was 97 degrees when I got back which might explain why my legs felt dead even at the very beginning.
Strength/Core 10:00 [1]
Abs and pushups (5-pyramid) (and Superman).
