Thursday Oct 30

Running (easy) 30:00 [2] 4.8 km (6:15 / km) +36m 6:01 / km
Centre, Comm, Walnut, Cabot.

Tuesday Oct 28

Running (easy) 22:30 [2] 2.25 mi (10:00 / mi)
Easy before and after tempo.
Running (tempo) 15:00 [4] 1.67 mi (8:59 / mi)
"Tempo" with the team.

Monday Oct 27

Running (easy) 43:00 [2] 7.2 km (5:58 / km)
In the woods. XC loop x2, plus some. Mildly rainy, good temperature. And boy, it gets dark early.

Sunday Oct 26

Running (race) 24:47 [4] 5 km (4:57 / km) +10m 4:54 / km
Witch City 5k in Salem. Wore my Chia Pet costume (not that anybody else knew that that was what I was).

Splits: 7:43, 15:49
Note
Obviously went out too hard at the start. Funny thing was, I was trying hard not to start out too hard and I was holding back. Or so I thought. So I pulled back a bit (too much) for the second mile, and then just tried to hold it for the last. Using the 20 minutes before the race to warm up instead of standing in line for a porta-potty would have been a good idea. In any case, a little faster, but not necessarily well-raced.

Saturday Oct 25

Running (easy) 20:00 [2] 3.2 km (6:15 / km)
slept:7.0
In to the woods, one xc loop.

Friday Oct 24

Running 45:00 [2] 4.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
rhr:<50 slept:6.5
In the woods.

Thursday Oct 23

Running 20:00 [3]
Warm up and then just 2x(30.60.90) on the lower field. Too cold for the pansies...

Monday Oct 20

Running 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
10 minute warm-up followed by 4x"800". "800" was two loops around the woodsy area by the sunken garden.

3:07, 3:07, 3:09, 3:11

I was most certainly not running hard (not sore from this weekend, surprisingly, but tired). Must be quite a bit less than 800.

Sunday Oct 19

Orienteering 1:32:00 [4] 6.8 km (13:32 / km) +235m 11:32 / km
13c
ROC Fall Classic Red (Day 2).

Day 2: Red - Splits

Saturday Oct 18

Orienteering 1:35:00 [4] 7.2 km (13:12 / km) +205m 11:33 / km
14c
ROC Fall Classic Red (day 1).

Day 1 : Red - Splits

Thursday Oct 16

Running 15:00 [2]
10 minute warm up run and 5 min concentration stuff.

Tuesday Oct 14

Strength/Core 20:00 [1]
10 minute warm up and core stuff.

Monday Oct 13

Running (easy) 35:00 [3]
In Grafton. Down the road to the xc ski place, through some ski trails, finished on a snowshoe trail.

Sunday Oct 12

Hiking (walking) 2:00:00 [2]
In Grafton with the fam. Took a snowshoe trail that was a bit wild for everyone else's taste.

Friday Oct 10

Running (easy) 1:02:00 [2]
To Cold Spring Park, short loop, and back.

Thursday Oct 9

Running (blue-silver race) 13:31 [5] 1.8 mi (7:30 / mi) +50m 4:18 / km
slept:4.0
First female faculty, came in 9th overall. The lack of a warm up probably helped make this a little more painful (and perhaps slightly less fast). I don't know what the *actual* distance is, though I suspect it's not quite as long as posted.

Wednesday Oct 8

Running (easy) 46:00 [2]
slept:7.0
Crisp morning at Cutler Park.

Monday Oct 6

Running (warmup/down) 14:00 [2]
Running (hills) 17:00 [4]
7x"200" hills on the other side of woods. Hill lap times:
50, 48, 50, 52, 51, 48, 33 (!)

The last was a product of trying to "race" Alex (as if I had a chance...). 50 is probably a little slow but a) I was sore and b) I was running with the slowest group.

Sunday Oct 5

Orienteering 1:23:00 [4] 4.4 km (18:52 / km) +200m 15:22 / km
NEOC green at Prospect Hill.

Green - Splits

Friday Oct 3

Running (easy) 30:00 [2]
Checked out the XC course markinsg for Saturday.

Thursday Oct 2

Running 28:00 [3]
Warm up and 4x(3, 2, 1) on the lower field.
