Running (trail) 50:00 [2] +60m
ahr:175 max:187 shoes: Asics Trail
Ran up a bit of Embudo Canyon. I was feeling pretty weak but still managed to go uphill fairly well on the sandy stuff. Then I got into the canyon itself, which is pretty cool. There was water in the stream and lots of little waterfalls along the way. Sort of like a tighter, more bouldery version of Pima Canyon, only without the horny bee. But it was too bouldery and covered in slippery mud to make it a "run" rather than a "hike", and I felt like running, so I turned around and ran around the foothills for a bit longer.

Unfortunately, I felt entirely unenergetic and had to cut my plans short. Most of the typical allergy symptoms are gone, I feel much better in that respect. Plus I slept well, I've eaten well, I'm rested, hydrated, and I wanted to run... so obviously something's still wrong. Maybe I just have a really nasty reaction to all this Juniperus. Maybe I've got some strange New Mexican blood disease. Whatever it is, it's the suck.

Wuhu, logging some training!

Went for a sunset run in the foothills. Like summer today. Okay, not quite that warm, but maybe like a Canadian summer day. Felt pretty awful all day but running actually felt pretty good. Didn't have a watch on and I was bummed when I got to the car and saw that I had been just short of 40 min. I guess I could have run around the parking lot for a minute.

Gave my 30-day notice for my apartment today. I hope that's a good guess!

Tried to play some StepMania to get some kind of physical activity in but it wasn't happening for me. Ready to collapse halfway through the first song. This is really awesome. How do people put up with this every year? I can't even handle two days. And I can't wait to fly tonight!

Note
Well, I thought I was just allergic to Texas but apparently I am also allergic to New Mexico. This is what I get for making fun of all those kids with the bad immune systems and allergies all the time when I was in elementary school.

I can handle the sneezing. The itchy/watery eyes and scratchy throat are fairly unpleasant and a bit sleep-depriving. But the faucet for a nose is the worst. This is ridiculous. I like pollen! Why does it have to be so mean?

If I were doing one of those abcdefghij or 111011010101 count thingies, today would probably not be good. I can have some of those every once in a while. :-)

Easy evening loosening run in the foothills with Melissa... though she might object to the word 'easy', especially with the emphasis on 'hills'. Felt really good today, guess next time I should run another course or two to make sure I get tired out.

Nice day, warm (around 60) but sort of hazy, which made for an awesome sunset.... in shorts and a t-shirt, of course! (Just trying to make the northeasterners jealous of my NC-like weather.)

My shin still hurts from running into that log yesterday. No biggie. Seems I got off easy on the weekend compared to others!
