Today was a lot less hilly and steep than yesterday and that was a major contributor to being able to go out and have fun. My orienteering was solid (AP shows no mistakes... perhaps generously) though there were lots of places where I wished I were fitter/healthier so I wouldn't have to walk through such nice woods!

Beautiful day and I was super pumped to be able to 'race' three days in a row. Things are looking up.

Decent orienteering for me today on a very nice course and find terrain. The rain held off except for a few drops while I was out on the course, so kudos to GAOC for getting so much right. My time losses today were a lot more obvious, in that I had a few moments of "oh no, I thought it would be right here..." as opposed to the hesitations from the middle.

Pretty excited to be able to do this after racing yesterday, though I didn't quite last the whole course. For the last 10 minutes or so my feet kept catching and I face-planted a few times, and I also managed to muck up the penultimate leg with a 90° error of some sort.

Georgia O Fest Middle, F21

Look at me, running F21! This was a good day. The weather was great, the orienteering was fun, and I felt pretty good. I was a little shaky on a few controls and clearly didn't have any zip (Melissa: "well you don't have any nutrients in your body so....") but it was a manageable outing. And I got to go orienteering which means it was actually more like a great day.

Back where I belong tomorrow, on F40.

Running intervals (road) 1:03:44 intensity: (6:16 @1) + (49:06 @2) + (7:36 @3) + (45 @4) + (1 @5) 10.01 km (6:22 / km)

Opened the door to go out for my run this morning and tnipen was right outside! That makes six in a row.

Thomas and I ran along the Boston side of the river and then up to Charles St and through the public garden towards his hotel. He was kind enough to join me in my 6x40" with walking recoveries. We parted ways in the garden and I did my 1 mile tempo+ on the way back home.

Probably just about did 200m for the first 5, last one a little slower. I don't think there's too much of a need to run 200s faster than low 40s right now. Mile was a 7:37, which certainly felt like a bit harder than tempo.

It feels pretty okay to run and do a workout (especially with nice company like today) but generally the next day is not so good. So we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Running (road) 33:18 intensity: (22 @0) + (20:26 @1) + (11:41 @2) + (29 @3) + (20 @4) 5.44 km (6:07 / km)

Winter is back, I had snow/sleet in my face for most of this run. Just an easy trot around MIT, grabbing a few nodes and then stopping at the pool on my way back to pick up our membership cards. While leaving there I bumped into former Tot Lot parent Monica, extending my bumping-into-people-while-running streak to 5.
