Javelina Hustle - Short (Box Canyon)

The mass start and first day check-in rush meant that I wasn't quite ready to go when everyone else did. After the mass start I changed and grabbed the last Short map and chased as many people down as I could, having given everyone a 17 minute head start. Passed the first person just after the first control and then it was just picking people off as I went. Got close to Alli and Boris towards the end but they managed to stay ahead the whole way.

Fun course, I really like running down on the Rt 83 maps. I think I prefer Kentucky Camp/Greaterville but I had good legs today so the extra contour lines didn't seems so bad.

Checking and streamering control locations and finalizing Cholla Chaser course at Catalina. Spent about 3.5 hours out there and drank 2 liters of water, despite only running occasionally. Saw lots of critters and got a photo of a deer licking its butt.

29 Day Challenge Day 7

Left Henry St. this morning at 4:15 and arrived in Tucson shortly before noon. Spent the afternoon at UofA checking out my courses for next Thursday. Lots of little updates to the map. I think it could use a re-mapping since a lot of landscaping has changed, the sprint standard has changed, and the style and expectations for sprint maps has changed. It's still mostly just fine, but I want it to be perfect, just like a corn maze map.
