I have accepted that field-checking this map is going to take a long time. I caved and bought a $150 Android tablet and have used it for the last few outings. Very pleased. The internal gps is good enough for my needs and my finger is perfectly fine for adjusting and adding lines, curves, whatever.

Plan today was to get out for the morning until it started raining and then run.

Running (trail) 50:02 intensity: (3:07 @1) + (28:22 @2) + (18:16 @3) + (17 @4) 7.78 km (6:26 / km) +51m 6:13 / km
ahr:160 max:177 shoes: Cholla (X-Talon 230)

Out on the trails just as the rain started. 4x20" strides towards the end. Zippier pace in the beginning but my energy levels receded a bit for the last third. Haven't run in the rain in a while, it's actually enjoyable when it's also warm enough for a singlet.

River run, with 8x[40/20] in the middle. Haven't seen so many people out on the river paths since... last year? A lot of people out on a very nice October afternoon. Dry air and sunset reminded me of a nice winter evening run in Tucson. I think about Tucson a lot, good thing we're moving there soon!

Spent the weekend at my parents' for the mega October weekend (anniversary, my dad's birthday, Melissa's birthday). Yesterday Melissa wanted to go for a long walk while I took Lukas to soccer + haircut, and I remembered that there's some conservation land with some trails not too far from the house. She ended up walking elsewhere, but I decided to give it a go tonight for an easy run.

Turns out the run there and back with one round of the main trail loop is the same as running to town center and back, only without the big hill and with a lot more dirt. Trade-offs.
