Event: Canadian Orienteering Championships
 

WCOC middle distance at Hidden Lakes, my first visit of Yukon and its forest/orienteering map.
It went well for first two controls, than I made a 2 min mistake to 3 being a bit off and running ahead hoping to hit the trail...
After that I was careful and did pretty well again till the last loop where I ran out of energy and focus. Made a quite big mistake at 17 leaving the 16 in wrong direction. Great to see everyone!

WCOC Middle Course 9 - Splits

White-out followed by a rainstorm while hiking down from Elfin Lakes to red heather hut where you can start the wood stove. Very wet and cold up there and no visibility at all made it more adventure: route finding, how to keep warm enough, start the fire as fats as possible or just make it down. Good to show my brother the real mountain conditions and sudden changes. Got all possible conditions in 24 hours.

Great WET at the Olympic Village by Alison, did not want to push, so skipped the mass start and just enjoyed it. Exciting news are that Victoria Smith is now living in the town.

Hike up to the Elfin Lakes shelter in the snow with my brother. Pretty tough. Some views, no heating in the shelter and tons of snow which will probably not melt this year.

Hiking on Bowen Island

Hike to the Lions with Magnus and Otik. A loooot of snow all the way, great day with no one around. If you don't want to see to many people on a sunny Sunday afternoon, hike to the Lions! Pretty tired now.
