Fed up and wanted to see how a bit of training went so decided to head to Matlock Moor for a spot of orienteering.
Up to the start. Feeling OK bar the head cold.

Tricky first few and I lost 60-90s on each 1 and 4. Most lost lots more on one but probably should have picked a better rout in and just lost my position on 4 and headless chickened. Also lost ~20s on the short leg to 13 with a poor bearing and ~45s on the last control by overshooting. Would be a decent area with a hard winter to clear the brambles. Running was clearly not right - didn't have the extra gear or two.

Back to the car when I started with heart pulpitations out of the blue. No idea what caused them. I have had them several times before but not for the last 20 months or so. A little disconcerting.

Legs like lead weights. Cold seams to be improving though.

Getting home from the station was a major effort - sacking off this evening's run was a no brainer. Cold and tiredness have caught up with me - rest needed for a day or so and then I should be able to pick back up.

Tentatively planned to do a hills session at Byron's Walk to make up for yesterday's change of plan but the mud made it far to difficult so shelved that plan. Did a steady mud/hill/terrain run instead.

Had a bad nights sleep due to the cold. I had set the alarm for 6:10am to try and fit in a short run before having to get Grace ready and to her Grandma's (Amy now back at work part time and building up to 5 days in 6 weeks or so) but that was a loss with limited sleep.
Hectic day of work and then heavy traffic for the commute home as well as a cold and tired, so was a grumpty git, and not in the mood for a run when I got home. Dragged myself out for an easy run as I knew that was the best thing for me.

Been feeling sniffly in the mornings and evenings the last couple of days and despite poppoing the Zinc + vit C it seams to have manifested itself as yet another cold. Hopefully nothing too bad and will take things day by day but should be ok if I keep things easy.
