running warm up/down 15:00 [1]
running race (Yukon XC Champs) 33:45 [4] 8.5 km (3:58 / km) vdot: 51.9
fun to do this. a really poor turnout this year so nobody to run with/against. Ran with masters Dave B for 4 laps then continued on my own for the last one. The good part is my achilles was fine to race on. The bad thing is that I am brutally out of shape! I guess it shows that training works:-)

mountain biking 2:00:00 [2]
ride on the trails on the lower part of Montana Mtn in Carcross. Heard so much about these trails and how amazing they are... well, they are. Tons of fun. It would have been sooo much better if I wasn't on my hardtail. Having more skill and bigger cajones would have helped too:-) There are some sections that would make amazing O terrain. Lots of cliffs, boulders on a slope. Reminded me of Norwegian mountain terrain below the treeline.
I am going to try to sell the idea of getting it mapped. We are likely using Lewes Lake as one of the maps for 2010 Westerns and that is halfway to Carcross already. Might as well make the other map in Carcross.
mountain biking 1:05:00 [1]
with Philippe and Jean-Paul on R&D. used JP's old freeride bike. WOW what a difference. I HAVE TO get a new bike. It was amazing how much smoother and faster I could ride. even took a few of the drops that I didn't have the guts to do before.

hanging and collecting and shadowing with the jrs.
Tons of fun to hang out with the kids. There won't be any attempts at "training" but just an attempt to maintain some general health for now anyway.

Monday Sep 1

running 55:00 [1]
(injured)
The first 15 mins were with Pippa on her first run in over a year. Through in 6 strides a little later on. Achilles is still taped but I feel like it is coming around.
