Note
slept:5.0 weight:61.2kg (injured)
Not sleeping well, which I guess isn't all that surprising. Sitting around, getting fat (7lbs in 2 weeks) and going crazy.

After looking at Mr.P's log, maps named after women...

Note
End of the season!!! Very happy that the season is over. My body and my mind have been suffering a little bit as of late and could really use a break. Time to take it easy and recharge for a week or two.

Wine O Ocross race on Mt Nemo
Tons of fun. Ran hard for most of it. Lost my SI near the end. spent a bunch of time looking for it (~12-15 mins) so my actual time was ~1:10
Read more about that at
http://dl1.yukoncollege.yk.ca/brent
then I jogged in the last few controls

NAOC long. a very conservatively run race. given yesterday's results I am pleased with it. A bit disappointing to make an error of ~2 mins on the long leg near the end. Just got lost in the trails. Likely would have been 3rd if I hadn't made that error. GRRRRR.
A write up on my blog about the entire NAOC weekend

NAOC middle distance. A brutal race for me. Early mistakes, shattered confidence, a complete meltdown with a bail out to the trail, followed by slowly proceeding but still making mistakes.
Completely unfocussed.

NAOC sprint. Decent race for me. I can't be disappointed. I had a couple of questionable route choices and a small error getting trapped by the impassable flower bed on #10. The big difference was I just wasn't running fast enough. From looking at the splits I was just a little bit slower on every control. This was partly my race plan. I just wanted to be safe and not make any big mistakes (in retrospect not the best strategy on a technically easy course like this). It was also just that I didn't really have it. I felt a little flat. I will go in with the same strategy for the middle distance. This time it will be very technical!

very tricky little area on War Eagle beside the dump. Did a 5 control clover with one centre control. from there a longish leg to a vague area and another vague control. Back to the clover and now another loop doing the legs we didn't do on the first loop.
Ran it as if it was a race but to technical to run with a lot of intensity
mountain biking 1:00:00 [1]
an absolutely gorgeous day so I HAD to go for a ride, too.
I'll start the taper tomorrow!
