Road run 1:41:00 [3] 12.0 mi (8:25 / mi) +750ft 7:57 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel-Trail Sensor (A)

Great run in sunny, warm weather with AJW. Stiff wind out to Trail Creek. Took a while to work out Fri and Sat's runs, but didn't feel too bad after that.

Very happy with the 75 mile week -- a pretty big one (for me) with some quality miles and decent vertical (for winter).

Good luck at Ghost Town, AJW.

Road run 2:50:00 [3] 21.0 mi (8:06 / mi) +1700ft 7:31 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel-Trail Sensor (A)

Trail Creek/Elkhorn run with Independence Creek and Juniper Rd (http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=263733). Felt tired after yesterday but steady. Paths were nice and clear (thanks, Brad). First long run in a while without the Icebugs.

Trail run 2:07:00 [3] 9.0 mi (14:07 / mi) +3200ft 10:33 / mi
shoes: IceBug MR3Bugrip

Good one today! Tested out a route I'd been thinking of for a while (http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=264410).
Parked at River Run parking lot. Ran to warm springs (Icebugs), then strapped on some Kahtoola KTS crampons and went up Warm Springs to the top; then down Ridge to Blue Grouse to Roundhouse Lane to Olympic cat track to Lower Olympic and down to River Run. First time in the Kahtoola KTS, and they worked great, even coming down last steep pitch of Blue Grouse. Great quad seasoning, at least for winter.

Details:
River Run to Warm Springs lodge (road): 28:27
Transition: 4:17
Warm Springs to top of Baldy (1.9 mi, 3200ft): 58:26
Transition: 3:30
Top to River Run: 31:08
Total: 2:06:00

Next time on the climb, I think I may try cutting over to Flying Squirrel and then up. The side angle toward the top of Warm Springs was really tough.

My review of the Kahtoola KTS crampons: http://runjunkie.blogspot.com/2009/01/rj-review-ka...

Note

PLUS:
--Hour of hard Alpine (nabbed Sleeping Bear for the first time)
--25:00 easy Nordic with dog
