Orienteering race 1:31:30 [3] **** 8.3 km (11:01 / km)
23c shoes: VJ Integrator 1

SoSOL 3 Tentsmuir

Notable for my historic first split, beating Scott Fraser by a considerable margin. Unfortunately for me the SI system hadn't recorded my start time properly---the start unit had beeped and flashed!---and so an approximate time has been entered robbing someone else of that first split. My overall position is unaffected since I probably took about 2:30 for that leg.

It was a beautiful day in Tentsmuir. The heavy frost decorated the clearings with white crystals. The KFO 30th birthday cake was a welcome addition to the finish line refreshments.

Offroad Running 1:40:00 [1] 6.0 mi (16:40 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 315 1

Ridge run above the skiing area at Glenshee taking in the Munro Carn a Gheoidh and the summit at Carn nan Sac.

Out for 100 minutes but lots of stopping and admiring the views. Very gentle run.

routiki as soon as I sketch one.

We had planned to sus out the snow to see if we could eke out any XC skiing. There wasn't enough so we took in a run instead. Absolutely beautiful up there. Stunning views and a temperature inversion filling the glens with cloud. And, a mountain hare, half brown half white.

shoes: NB 782 1

First run after a very bad cold, possibly man-flu. Annoyingly it came after a week when I did next to nothing due to other factors but didn't worry at the time about having a week off training. Had I know I was going to come down with a cold I'd have scheduled my rest week to coincide!
