Offroad Running 1:50:00 [3] 10.0 mi (11:00 / mi)
shoes: NB 782 2

Wall to Errington Arms and back along the Hadrian Wall Way. Very nice sunny day, in contrast to yesterday, and a pleasant run.

Cycling 30:00 [2] 5.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Very easy ride from Wall to Hexham. Mostly down hill with a little exploration of some quiet lanes crossing the A69. I still couldn't work out the legality since it was 'No Vehicles Without Permit' from one direction and unsigned from the other two directions. Also, it was a bridleway so I'm not sure what sign trumps what right of way.

Cycling 1:30:00 [2] 17.0 mi (5:18 / mi)

Cycle ride from home to Wall (Northumberland) for my running club's annual charity relay. This year it's a two day run from Carlisle castle to Durham Castle with an overnight camp at Wall. There's a fantastic free campsite at Wall though you are limited to a single 24 hour stay. Ideal for people walking of cycling either of the routes along Hadrian's Wall. There's a good pub too with some decent beer and food.

My plan was to cycle to the campsite and pitch up. Then I ran out along the final legs of day 1 to meet the incoming runners and run back with them. Then on day 2 I would run the first leg before running back to the campsite and then cycling home. In the end I cut short the cycle home by meeting my partner in Hexham to do some shopping. All in all a great weekend.

Wall to Brocolitia Fort and back along the Hadrian Wall Way. I had intended to get to the start of Leg 8 at Carraw but I knew it was always going to be hit and miss where I met the incoming runners. In the end I met them at the road crossing near Brocolitia Fort. I then had a very nice run back with the 10 or so runners. It was very nice to run alongside a wall built nearly 2000 years ago.

Offroad Running 57:00 [3]
shoes: NB 782 2

New route, but again a rehash of existing runs. Bolt's Law summit via Packlet's Gate. Then along the fence path off the summit towards Rookhope. I wasn't certain where this would hit the big tracks but after a few twists and turns through the heather it came out on the Land Rover track near the track junction. Return via the track and road. I could use this to start a longer run out towards Parkhead.
