Running 4:10 [2] 0.41 mi (10:10 / mi)
shoes: Silva K80

Advertised 20 minutes to start was actually not - good thing since I was running late this morning - an unusual and disconcerting experience. Had to call Sandy at 7:58 AM and make sure we were going the correct way to the meet site - not a good way to start the day...

Orienteering race (West Point Green Y Day 1) 1:53:58 [4] 4.95 km (23:01 / km) +175m 19:34 / km
shoes: Silva K80

Beautiful, clear skies opened up right as I start, but the rain only lasts a few mintues. Enough, though not enough, that I wondered why my feet were wet later on when I couldn't remember going through a stream...
Not my worst effort at WP, and maybe even my best since I never, erver do well here! Total hosed #2 (~20 minute error), and have additional time loss at 3, 6-12 (that is right 6 through 12). Total about 30+ minutes of errors.
Tomorrow is a another day...

Map, showing all my adventures, is here.

Orienteering race (West Point Sprint) 33:26 [4] *** 2.8 km (11:56 / km) +100m 10:08 / km
shoes: Silva K80

Start out before any one else so that I can set up afterwards for the epunch. Bobble 1 & 2, and hose 10. Finish behind Gail, Lynette and Sharon in the second tier of women. Distinguish myself as the first to dive in the water after I finished, of course I was the first finisher...boy, the water felt good!! What a great event, especially compared to last year's cold, rainy conditions.

Running 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:174lbs shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 1

Ran a mile before class started.

Misc 55:00 [2]
shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 1

My enthusiasm for the large class is plummeting quickly... Yesterday they didn't have enough exercise bands for everyone (me), so today I brought my own which are actually too stretchy.
Class was disjointed, you can't hear the one instructor, and they aren't keeping us moving enough. Though I am sore from yesterday's pushups...
Today's bad idea - a Ranger Run in one group. The running speed of the group ranges from 7-15 minutes per mile, so of course, it got spread out right away. Than one of the usual whiners decided she wasn't going to participate and ran ahead, and we turned left. So, her sarcastic comment upon her return was "Thanks for telling me where to go." I wanted to tell her where to go. So, she and her teeny bopper acting pal were off pouting in the corner. Not sure why I let it bother me today.

Returned to BC to find a huge new enrollment has brought the numbes to 27+. What a great turnout!
Session was okay with lots of JJ, pushups, Body Shapers, Mountain Climbers, squats, and wall sits.
Right knee still quite painful on bending - oh, right, we also did lots of lunges.

Insomnia is back - 3rd night in a row. Too much stuff on my mind, I guess. Though I don't lie there specifically thinking about things...

Orienteering race (EMPO Long Green Y) 1:35:05 [5] *** 7.61 km (12:30 / km) +240m 10:48 / km
slept:4.0 shoes: Silva K80

Much better race today. Route choices favored my increased fitness level - lots of trail runs. Had only one time when I aimed for a trail to the south and ended up on the one to the east. Need to work on this - same issue last weekend.
Very enjoyable weekend in EMPO land. Enjoyed the courses (well mostly), and had a ball working the finish with Nancy and J-J.
Oh, and I was 2nd today. Yeah!! Now, if we could only get Peggy to carry Max around on her course.
