O Training (NA Champs Classic) 40:00 [2] *** 3.0 mi (13:20 / mi)
shoes: Ice Bugs - Red Storm

Didn't have it in me today to tackle the detailed terrain, especially after my glasses fogged up. Fine on 1 & 3, messed up 2 pretty badly when I thought the W/Y Start was a different water cup than the one I wanted as my attackpoint. Finally found it after sucking it up and going back out to the road.

Then I couldn't even navigate well enough to easily find the great big road as a route choice to 4, though I finally did. But after starting to jog up the road in the direction to 4, I was going so slowly that my gps watch said I was paused. I took that as a sign it was time to stop before I did something stupid, so I headed back to the finish. This allowed me to revisit the W/Y start for a 4th time, and I got a ride the rest of the way up the road when I got down to the bottom of the hill.

I enjoyed the weekend, and it is no surprise that I don't navigate well in this kind of terrain. When Sandy was showing her route, and pointing out that she went to the top of this hill, and then the top of that hill, the only one I could really see was the one with a million contour lines. The other hill tops and low areas all run together when I look at them.

Orienteering race (NA Champs Middle) 1:34:18 [3] *** 3.9 km (24:11 / km) +105m 21:19 / km
shoes: Ice Bugs Men's Blue 8.5

Only about 30 minutes in errors according to WinSplits. Ugh, not good, but representative of my attention span in technical terrain.

Better.

Biking 34:30 [2] 6.4 mi (5:23 / mi)
shoes: Shimano Bike

Today is going to be a repeat of yesterday, except it took me a little longer to come in today (45 seconds).

Temp was 55. I wore a long sleeve shirt and shorts. Short sleeves would have been fine too. Sitting here in my wet bra (forgot a second one), I can confirm that I work up a sweat.

Edit: I didn't do the second ride to the central office. I considered making it up on the way home, but the wind in my face was brutal (all relative), so I rode straight home. I am a wuss!

Biking 41:00 [1] 8.0 mi (5:07 / mi)
shoes: Shimano Bike

I was SO close to being motivated by Peggy's run to get a run in myself yesterday evening, but it wasn't to be. So, at least I pedaled in today, and I brought my running stuff to try a run from the office. We shall see.

A "speedy" ride in today at 12:30 for 2.4 miles.
Lunch is 8:30* for 1.6 miles
A mail run today as well. Same as lunch...
Home 12:00 for 2.4 miles.

*Yesterday, I had my meet and greet with the new director of the ITS department. I timed how long it takes me to get over there, and it takes me longer to walk out, get in the car, drive the .8 miles, and park, then it does to pedal over.

Running/Walking 1:02:00 intensity: (12:00 @1) + (25:00 @2) + (25:00 @3) 5.0 mi (12:24 / mi)
shoes: Salomom XT Wings 10

Success - I ran before going home.
Mile down to the bottom of the park (paved - 9:52)
Then I walked the .3 mile nature trail, and then ran it back (~10 minute per mile pace for rounds 2-5).
w 458 r 302
w 429 r 251
w 432 r 252
w 438 r 254
w 437 r 253
Then jogged and walked back to work and rode home.
