My twin sister (I'm 4 minutes older - always an important fact), Elizabeth (birth) aka Betsy (childhood) aka Cris (adult), lives in Allentown with her partner, Ellen (who I haven't yet met, though they have been together 2? years. I think she only goes by the one name.).
Good picture - except for my misplaced "nipple" (necklace), and the fact that my head looks bigger (extra brains?!). Sibling rivalry Forever! We look more alike now then we ever have before.
I am not very good at reaching out - out of sight, out of mind, which is why I haven't met Ellen. Staying in contact with family is something I need to work on, so I contacted Betsy (can't get around the Cris name), and invited her and Ellen to lunch on Friday on my way through Allentown. They weren't available, but they would come on Saturday to the meet. It turned out that just Betsy was able to come. And, though things were a bit crazed, it was a nice visit. Huge bonus points to my sister for bringing food (ate the rest of it on the way home on Sunday), diet coke (like a 30 oz bottle), and letting me order her around to help put the cable for the cabled control out. And, she didn't leave while I ran off and left her to do a Sprint course. Cool.
Recently, an 89 year old woman who we have had to Christmas eve dinner the last two years was hit and killed by a school bus. And, with other people facing family mortality issues, I am trying to think about my family more often, and that fact that at any given time someone can be "run over by a bus." Not dwelling, just trying to be a little less self-centered.
