Orienteering race 2:55:37 [2] *** 9.0 km (19:31 / km) +20m 19:18 / km
shoes: Pink!! Ice Bugs

Another early start to the day so that I could work the epunching after.

New map, no real climb, meaning vague stuff, so not my best day of navigating, but a day in the woods... And, I certainly got bang for my buck - 8.9 miles for a 9 k course. About 59 minutes of error. Oh, well, I enjoyed my time in the woods, and I got to go out during the cooler part of the day having start at ~8:15.

Trail Run 2:11:31 [2] 9.36 mi (14:03 / mi) +418m 12:20 / mi
shoes: Pink!! Ice Bugs

On the Bull Run Trail from Fountainhead from the 0 to 5 mile post and back. Either tracks were wonky in both directions, or they have rerouted part of the blue trail between miles 3-5.

Felt strong up the hills. Enjoyed the very pleasant morning in the woods.

Full time was 2:19:46, but I spent lots of time fiddling with shoes and waist style hydration back.

Biking (Commute in) 30:31 [1] 5.8 mi (5:16 / mi) +11m 5:14 / mi
shoes: Bike Sandals

Despite a sleep aid last night, I think I only slept about 3 hours, so I was super sluggish this morning. Coupled with headwind, this was my slowest ride to work in a long time, though I am not complaining. Very happy to be out on my bike on a beautiful day!
3 PM

Biking (Commute home) 33:03 [1] 6.01 mi (5:30 / mi) +63m 5:20 / mi
shoes: Bike Sandals

Ride home was into stronger headwinds then this morning, but again, the sun was out, with no sign of any of the predicted storms, and it wasn't much more than 70 F, so all was good.

Trail Run (Behind work) 1:03:32 [2] 6.0 mi (10:35 / mi) +31m 10:25 / mi
slept:3.0 weight:173lbs shoes: Pink!! Ice Bugs

Windy conditions to increase in the afternoon. Not really my kind of biking weather, so I packed for a run instead, and I did it!!

There is heavy equipment digging on top of one of the hills near the unpaved road behind work that I have been running on. So, I decided to be brave and go on the other side where the satellite shows that there is a trail. It is more secluded back there, so I have been hesitant. I took off the headphones each time I went back there.

It was a nice little single track of about .25 mile with good footing and no mud. The wind was a bit easier during this section as well. I got closer then I usually get to the bread factory, and that smelled really good today. I rousted a nesting bird each time I went by, but at least it didn't fly at me when it left the nest.

~3:45 in stoppage time for water subtracted. I think I stopped each time I went past the water, coming and going. I was just really thirsty today, most likely attributed to way too much eating and drinking at dinner last night.

At the time, I felt badly about not getting motivated to do anything all of last week, but in retrospect, I think it worked out for the best. I am feeling more motivated again.

Misc 40:00 [2]
slept:2.0 weight:171lbs

Staff meeting, rainy conditions, and an early dinner date not conducive for getting a trail run in today, so I revisited my old friend, The DVD. Not too bad considering it has been a while.

Plan for the rest of the week:
Tuesday: Core and/or a run
Wednesday: Trail run
Thursday: Bike
Friday: Core
Saturday: Long trail "run" (10-15 miles)
Sunday: O' Meet - Blue?
4 PM

Running 19:30 [2] 2.0 mi (9:45 / mi)
shoes: NB 1064 Blue

From the house, through the school grounds, to the bike trail.

Legs felt pretty decent, and breathing was actually good the first 20 minutes until I had ingested my limit of pollen, and then I suffered and switched to walking.
5 PM

Walking 41:15 [1] 2.82 mi (14:38 / mi) +66m 13:38 / mi
shoes: NB 1064 Blue

Coughing and wheezing with all of the stuff blowing around. Had me reconsidering the decision to run outside, but I was happy to not be in the basement on the treadmill.

Took a shower immediately after and used the neti pot thingee which is proving to be super helpful with getting the stuff back out of my system. Loose cough right now, but at least I stopped sneezing.
6 PM

Note

Lailah with the quilt made by my good friend, Chieko. Signs are good that Lailah will be the next quilter in the family. She is already inspecting the stitching.
