Orienteering race (Mason Neck Orange) 39:11 [3] *** 3.1 km (12:38 / km) +35m 11:58 / km
shoes: Pink Ice Bugs #2

Set up early, and then worked epunching in miserable conditions - ~55 and rain. Thank goodness for MY BIG RED tent (and the sides, as well)!

Had decided not to go out, since who really wants to shuck off warm clothes and get wet after sitting around for 4 hours? But, there were these three 20 somethings who were leading the Orange course, and I needed to see if I could beat them. So, I prepped to go out, not really expecting to go under an hour, but thanks to flat conditions, and perhaps a little bit of conditioning, I came in under 40 and heat the boys. WooHoo! Even more impressive since I went without glasses because of the rain, and though I was seeing weird things here and there, or not really seeing well at all here and there, I was able to stay focused enough to get around the course. Double WooHoo!
