Orienteering 1:36:03 [2] 4.05 mi (23:43 / mi) +159m 21:08 / mi
weight:190lbs

Actual tracks and time of my Brown course, though I didn't do that funky part of crossing the road... I went out first after setting up, and I wasn't really clear headed, so I took a mulligan (~16:45) after botching the first control terribly and ending up in the archery area. I was actually walking back to quit, but I decided to take another try at it and was able concentrate better the second time I started.

A little cold sitting around after, but it was really a wonderful day to be outside.

Good thing I brought the backup map printer because I didn't print nearly enough W/Y/O/Br maps - 194 starts and 250 participants. What a way to start off the new year!
5 PM

Swimming 29:30 [1]

Gave up the lane a little earlier than planned because pool closed at 6, and there were people getting there even later than I did, so I was feeling a little generous, or perhaps I knew that I had enough for the day.

Good swim.

Walking (Fountainhead) 2:04:00 [2] 5.0 mi (24:48 / mi)
weight:192lbs

Woke at 6 ready to hit the ground running.
Breakfast and some paperwork, and then off for a haircut - arrived at 8:30 to be first in line. Just a trim.

Eyeglasses next - current ones scratched badly, so ordered new pair. Better to see clearly in the new year, I hope.

Home to find Sandy, who had had arrived a little early for a hike. Puttered around a bit getting maps printed, and dressed to hike, and some food in the belly, and then off to Fountainhead. Went out on the Blue trail and back with a side trip to the water. What a wonderful day to be out with great company and beautiful woods to admire.

Then off to Ft. Belvoir for some rock bottom priced storage containers - 66 quart rubbermaid for 3 bucks! Even stood my ground to another customer who tried to swoop in ahead of me.
Then off to the Dollar Tree for dollar foam boards for puzzle piece sorting - new puzzles I bought are 2000 pieces! And, toilet paper for the event tomorrow.

Back home to work with Roger on getting the xmas garland down and some other work which required a ladder.

Shower finally. Then dinner at SER with Roger and Sandy - quite good.
Finally home to print maps for tomorrow - went well, and I am done, and should meet my goal for bed by 9.

It was a good day.

Note

In addition to missing my mom, there has been other things I don't like dealing with - like a plumbing repair, meeting with and selecting a floor guy, the upcoming estimate on a bathroom reno, a potential medical issue with Roger, and pesky estate business. Despite all the whammies piling up a bit, I am feeling less stressed and anxious than I have in a long time. Happy that the lexapro seems to be working, and I don't feel the need to cope using other means.

Biking 1:13:00 [1] 12.5 mi (5:50 / mi)
weight:192lbs

A little later start than planned since I fell back to sleep this morning. Out to the humpback bridge and back. Perfect morning for a ride - 52 F with light winds. Fitness not great, but I really enjoyed the ride.

A fuzzy picture of the cranes across the Potomac.

Tried to get a picture of a turtle sunning on the rock, but I think I only got the rock...

Then had a guy in about replacing the kitchen floor and stair runners. Liked him - small business. Hope my faith hasn't been misplaced and the deposit doesn't disappear. Will know on Thursday when the work is supposed to be done.

Roger said that it was a good day, and it was! And, I finished the damn puzzle!

Dr. Appt then out to Leesburg to buy Roger some jeans at the outlet store. No joy on the jeans, but we had a nice lunch in Reston on the way back and then a nap. Was going to bike, but it had started raining on the way home. So, a rest day and more time with the hardest jigsaw puzzle I have ever done, or at least as far as I can recall.

Swimming 45:15 [1]

Wide awake at 4 AM,so I got up to terrorize Roger, who likes his quiet time from 3:30-7 or 8 AM. Worked on a puzzle - very difficult compared to the other two I have done recently. Had breakfast and then about an hour later I headed to the pool. Very quiet there today. Swam 45 minutes without stopping. Didn't count laps, but it was about 70, I guess.

Now, I will be productive and catch up on paperwork on this gloomy indoor kind of day.

Walking 45:15 [1] 3.0 mi (15:05 / mi)

Neighborhood and track. A bit windy and 44 F, but I was properly dressed with short/long sleeve, 3/4 tights and light hat.
