Mowing/Yard 1 [0]

Declared war on the nutsedge! Lots of squatting - good for the ankles. Also engaged quads as well. So nice to get the big garden tidied and get some exercise.
12 PM

Biking (Herndon to home) 1:45:00 [1] 20.0 mi (5:15 / mi)
weight:179lbs

Roger invited me to abandon the yard work and join him for a trip to the garden store and then lunch. Easy decision, especially since the lunch location was near the rail trail and the perfect distance from home. Had a deluxe grilled cheese for lunch - three types of cheese, bacon, and tomato on rye. Yummy but too much food. Time to ride it off... Very enjoyable ride, though I ran over my water bottle after dropping it while trying to re holster it after a drink. Oops. Need to practice that more. It was 55 by noon time. Bonus was the wind was mostly at my back.
2 PM

Walking 8:00 [1] 0.5 mi (16:00 / mi)

Nothing left in the bike legs, so I did the walk of shame up the hill and home. Next time, I will conquer the hill!

Swimming 1:00:00 [1]
weight:179lbs

Enjoyable swim, though I am looking forward to no swimming again until Monday. Hope to cycle tomorrow and go orienteering on Sunday.

New floor glow has worn off quickly - there is a hard object the size of a pencil under the vinyl. Agh!

Running/Walking (Treadmill) 1:05:00 [1] 4.7 mi (13:50 / mi)
weight:180lbs

Treadmill - the excuse being that I had to be at house while the floor guys came and finished up. Truth be told, I didn't want to face the chilly wind. Either way, I got a workout in!

Five minutes walking at 4-4.2 mph alternated with 5 minutes at 4.3, 4.5...5.5 mph. So, 35 minutes walking and 30 minutes running. Felt good throughout. Walked two+ episodes of Modfam which made the time fly by. Yay for finally taking advantage of the perks of overpriced cable.

Floor looks wonderful. Really wish it had been a better experience because I would have liked to use him for the shower reno too. Back to the drawing board.

Swimming 1:00:00 [1]
weight:180lbs

Worked 6-8 am and then home for stove delivery and for a redo on the kitchen vinyl flooring.

Stove delivered around 10 and plumber in to install about an hour later.

The original go at the new floor was laid on top of the old floor, and there were air pocket hills and glue oozing out where it shouldn't have been, and it was miscut, so there was an unauthorized piece job.

Today, when they went to pull up the bad new floor, the old floor started coming with it, so they had to pull up all of the old floor, which should probably been done in the first place. There was also a ton of wet glue underneath, which still doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I left them to it and went to the pool. Much quieter today with a lane to myself. Very calming. Did some faster 1-2 lap spurts during the first 40 minutes. Tiring after that so just went my usual steady pace to finish up.

Back home and floor looks better, so far, however there is a bit of mumbling going on. Crossing my fingers.

Swimming 1:00:00 [1]
weight:181lbs

A choppy swim in several ways - had to share lane right off since morning session had been canceled so pool was crowded. Then goggle issues, including getting out after 20 minutes and changing out to another unsatisfactory pair. About 20 minutes of solo, and then finished with 20 sharing. Though, I really am always grateful that I have never faced the pressure of 3+ people in a lane, so I will not whine about sharing with one other. So happy to be swimming.

Walking (Treadmill) 1:05:00 [1] 4.45 mi (14:36 / mi)
weight:181lbs

Well, when it snows on one's day off from work, then one just has to make the most of it...

Roger made chicken pot pies for lunch. Roasted a whole chicken and potatoes, and I added frozen veggies and store bought crust...

Then a photo op with the Snocraft snow shoes from my mom's estate which are going to my brother in Indiana.

Out to fill the bird feeder

The pool was closed, so after a short nap, the treadmill it was. Walked 10 minutes, jogged 5, walked 5, repeat twice more, and then 30 minutes of walking to finish. Watched back episodes of telenovela, and the time went by. Wore knee braces on both knees, so it will be interesting to see if they hurt less than usual tomorrow.
