Note

Y - EX2 Rendezvous Run and Ride (Spring) - Trail Run @ 8am / MTB @ 1pm - Rosaryville

Canceled - not too sad about it. Lots of stuff in the van from my mom's house to unload. And by stuff, I mean pictures to add to the piles of letters what I need to sort through, I guess. May send the whole lot to my oldest niece and let her go at it.

Running/Walking (Treadmill) 1:00:00 [1] 4.35 mi (13:48 / mi)
weight:177lbs

Walked 15, ran 5, back and forth until the hour was up. Watched tv on iPad mini instead of phone. Now to secure it in a way that doesn't risk it crashing to the floor.

Ate a bag of Butterfingers between yesterday and today. Still struggling with how sad it was yesterday at my mom's house, but besides the BF binge, I am handling things well.

Swimming 40:00 [1]

Henderson Hall pool after driving back from Baltimore. Visited my mom's house - last time before it is sold to my sister. Asked my sister to vacate for a bit because I thought being there alone for the first time since mom died six months ago would be desirable. Grief back in the forefront today. Swimming isn't as pleasant at this pool, but I lasted as long as I could stand and then called it good.

Biking 1:45:00 [3] 20.75 mi (5:04 / mi) +146m 4:57 / mi

Last day of March - 70 and mighty windy. Briefly contemplated going into DC, but dealing with traffic once across the bridge didn't appeal. Lollipop loop to include the hilly Custis Trail. Really enjoyed this ride and only had the worst of the wind the last 2 miles or so.

Wind blowing, slowing the pace.
Nose running, back on my face.

Swimming 30:00 [1]

Plan was for 30 minutes and then bike to work, but the windy conditions were an easily available excuse to skip the ride and to just swim today.

Did the first 400 yards in 7:46! So much fun to be improving.

Overslept this morning, falling back to sleep hard, so an easy day was probably a good thing.

Running/Walking (Treadmill) 1:00:00 [1] 4.75 mi (12:38 / mi)

In deference to my knees (don't appreciate too much pavement) and my nose (yay pollen!), I used the treadmill in the basement. Watching back episodes of modern family seemingly made the time go by more quickly.

Walked 2 minutes at 4 mph, ran 4 min at 5 mph, walked 2 at 4, ran 2 at 6 x 6.

Swimming 1:00:00 [1]

Started out with no intention of doing a 400 time trial, but a couple of laps in it was apparent that I was moving well, so I kept it up. Time just under 8 minutes. WooHoo!

Worked hard the rest of the time, sometimes trying to keep up with the faster guy in the lane next to me. Lots of sharing going on, but I had the lane to myself. Will be good to do some lane sharing at some point to become more comfortable with being closer to the lane dividers.

Biking 1:45:00 [3] 20.73 mi (5:04 / mi) +119m 4:59 / mi

Cool morning, around 50. Dressed perfectly in shorts, loose long sleeve and a shirt vest. Shoes were closed toe, and gloves were finger full.

Down to my work location just to avoid the usual trip to the airport and back. Kind of a rudderless effort, but it was mindless, so I was content.

New helmet and Easter egg inspired shirts.

Misc (Power washing) 10:00 [1]

After a bit of a nap, I spent my last afternoon of spring break power washing the deck and removing the green crud from the siding. Sore muscles a day later when lifting my arms, so it counts.
