Note

Well, a month of doing some exercise everyday. Maybe nothing for some harden athletes but for me it was more an exercise in application. It made me think and a few times I was there doing some strength and flexibility exercise right before I went to bed. But it also made the thought of training interesting and I am sure was helped by the fact of the great weather recently.

It did get a bit tenuous at times, like at the weekend, but I felt I could not put down certain activities that I did with the kids as I did not really exercise myself. So what next, I realised that I have done too much riding and need to run into work at least once a week and need to add a hill session.

The targets for July:
- continue to do the same in terms of something everyday
- one running session during the week (ideally too work)
- see a physio - can get my socks on most days now

Good group to go out and have a good tempo run and chat. I think I might enjoy moving to Halifax for work.

Was meant to be intervals but did not start off too good so just tried to pick a good pace. Managed it but it was helped by the fact that I wasn't carrying my laptop. Must remember to do that in future....

Really surprised by teh area thought it was going to be a crappy forset park but some great bits of forest to run through. Not massive technical but good in places.

Felt fresh to start but got tired towards the end.

Managed to get out to do one fast climb and then up onto a 18 seater monster bike for the second attempt. It was soo lower geared it took ages to get up the hill, about 2 hours. But the last time it was out it did pull a Grand Piano and pianist up the hill and didn't come back down.

Great fun, shame I couldn't manage what this guy did.....

Sarah got back too late for me, after a deserved night out, to head out on the bike to some laps of Cragg Vale as part of their mid summer 24 hours challenge in the lead up to the TdF.

Did a warm up and the 2 x 1 mile intervals with 5 min gap. Thought I might be able to fit a 3rd but there wasn't enough space in the Cardiff Bay loop. And tea was calling.

Need to set my Garmin for a pace as well as distance. Got two sub 6 min miles, felt hard though. Need to do more.
