Skiing downhill 2:00:00 [2]

Chamonix runs out in the sunshine! Absolutely lush!!
Still a lot of calamities on buses but we finally got out there! Got our wrong lift passes swapped for the day and had some beautiful skiing!!
3 PM

Skiing downhill 1:50:00 [2]

Sun went in and we headed over to the connecting lift to the other side of the mountain - this side was all icy and just not much fun to ski - and huge queues to get back across because the lift down on that side was shut due to wind! So we lost about half hour of good ski time but still nice to be out in the mountains and we were pretty tired in the legs by then end! I probably could have done another hour but jade was done!

Lush dusk run up the river and back followed by the most to die for heart attack on a plate fondue ever!

Skiing downhill 2:30:00 [2]

It’s been an absolute crazy nightmare to finally get here! And if I’m honest I was pretty grumpy this morning as it was a white out and my cousin was throwing up all day with a horrendous hangover... so as our 3 days skiingt urned to 2... it then turned to 1.5!! Then we managed to get the wrong lift passes and go to the furthest away lifts... so have infact paid double the price today for 2hrs skiing!
Was absolutely brilliant when we finally did get out though!! Amazing runs... fresh powder and we almost had the slopes completelyto ourself! Only fell over once trying to show off for a photo ha!
It felt like hard work and legs were tired by the end... esp after having to trek up a run when we took a wrong turn on the sweep down to the bottom!!
So looking forward to a full day of it tomorrow!!
7 PM

running 36:17 [2] 5.5 km (6:36 / km) +55m 6:17 / km
shoes: Icebug spirit6

Little exploration and head clearing jog around Chamonix... it’s been a chaotic and not particularly pleasant couple of days until we finally got on the slopes about 3pm today - so just needed a little breather run to reset my mind

slept:3.0 (rest day)

Second forced rest day due to horrendous travel difficulties!! We finally arrived in Chamonix about 3pm this afternoon, almost 30hrs after leaving home... after being messed around all night by easy jet!
Absolutely shattered!! But picked up our skis ready to hit the slopes tomorrow!!

(rest day)

Planned to go out in the snow this morning but bailed big time in order to make the one train that seemed to be going out of Sheff to Birm today!! Has been a long ass day of travelling... out at 9:30am... 7pm and still sitting in the departure lounge praying this flight to Geneva leaves!! Hopefully 3days ahead of skiing and no running... we will soon find out!

Really needed this tonight!! Had a shit day at work, came home to housemate playing devils advocate and was just so agitated when I got out... to the point where every single bit of kit was annoying me on the w/u - hood, headtorch, shoe, sock.... all of it!

Struggled to get energy round ShUOC ints... 2,3,4,3,2 (1s), 6x 30/30s

Then had a nice chat jog up to Broomhill with Nath

Then a little loop back round the parks to get the ks in... really started snowing by this point and the parks just looked so lovely.... until I couldnt see anymore for all the snow in my eyes!

Felt shins a little, so concentrating alot on technique... dont seem to be struggling to bad with them in the runs, its just a dull im there sort of feel. But they are bad after a long day at Virgin in classes etc (ie. thursdays!)

They say you're a soul runner or a goal runner in some book i think.... personally I think they go hand in hand.... but runs like this always affirm that saying a little bit!

Quiet one tonight just with the boys so kept a nice pace along 5 weirs! Feeling shins a little bit they seem to be a lot more manageable these days! Got a couple days off running over the weekend so hopefully feel fresh next week!!
