Run 1:02:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:12 / km)
shoes: Adistar Ride #4

Beautiful day in Victoria. Ran around Elk and Beaver Lake. I swear it was more than 10 km but i think that was how i was feeling.

Mtn Biking 1:00:00 [3]

Great ride at Hornby Island. Unfortunately cut short b/c Bart fell chasing the dog. We decided it was best to stop. I've been really tired lately and so it was probably better to stop early.

Run 57:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:08 / km)
shoes: Adistar Ride #4

Run with Bart and Logan from Flo Beach on the boardwalk trail to Wickaninnish point and visitors centre. Along the way we spotted a small black bear on the beach. He perked his ears up at us and then went back to his business. Finished the run off a couple or two along the beach.

Mtn Biking 1:30:00 [3]

Challenging ride in Nanaimo at Doumont trails. It was very wet and there were many roots. I hope it doesn't rain in BC bike race or else i will be so slow in this section.

Mtn Biking 1:15:00 [3]

Mtn biking at Hartland in Victoria. Have had better rides here. We explored some trials Bart hadn't ridden in a while and it meant a lot of pushing my bike. Nice to get out but lacked flow in a lot of sections.

Hiking 45:00 [3] +220m

Climb up Mt Doug with Bart's family and the dogs.

Orienteering 1:59:00 [3]

Bart did the race version of an orienteering race at Thetis Lake in Victoria. Jan (bart's dad) and I teamed up and did the non-race version. Of course we choose a much easier course than Bart but one where the controls were off the trails and required bush wacking. It was lots of fun. A few tacticle issues came up like: (1) Is the start the double circle or triangles; tried the wrong one first, (2) what do the symbols mean??? got a quick low-down as our start beeper went but it made things a challenge, and finally (3) did we have to do them in order??? (and yes you do). :) Great bonding experience with Bart's dad. Had trouble with 2 of the 10 checkpoints but we know understand our mistakes and are ready to do another race.
