Second day at Robb's ride. From Grand forks we headed down across the border to Curlew. Then east up over Boulder pass. Then back north on highway 395. Then back into Canada and west back to Grand forks on highway 3. Fun day until the last second on Highway 3. There was a big headwind and Andrea and I got really tired and couldn't keep up with the group.

First day of Robb's ride. I'm not in shape for this right now. It poured rain for part of it which made things quite miserable. Ran into Bev a woman who i cycled with in Mallorca when i was feeling particularly low (was perfect timing!). I cycled with her for the rest of the day. It was so nice.

Took out both bikes tonight and played around adjusting the new bike. Good news. The new bike actually climbs overall better. The descending is not totally comfortable yet. I need to tweak the bike a bit more. Not sure i like the dropper seat. I keep braking instead of pushing the dropper seat. And by the time i get the seat down the descent is over. But overall a very positive night.

Feeling terrible today. Gave up early on in the run.

Swim 45:00 [3]

Could only swim for 45 mins THANK HEAVENS. Had a meeting at 8 pm. Our new swim coach has been super tough (nice but tough). Lots of kicking and high intensity work. I know higher intensity swims have helped me in the past but this is a notch above what i've ever done and i'm floundering. I'm not sure it's ideal for me right now. I feel like i'm not recovering and having a hard time keeping up with biking. Plus the xterra is a no go this year.

Really fun ride with Atsuko and Vikki. Really struggling with my new bike. Not sure i love it. This week i'm going to take out my old and new bike and see if my impression is correct. I hope not.
