Cricket race 1:00:00 [2]

It was really really really cold and windy and it started to rain :(, but we played, I got a duck and we lost (our first loss :( ). But the rain meant that I could do a mad slide... except I was bowling at the time

Strength & Conditioning (leg rehab) 30:00 [2]

only night; no time in the morning (cricket)

Strength & Conditioning (leg rehab (AM & PM)) 40:00 [1]

had to do a shorter morning session because i had to go to the motor registry to get my L's :D :D :D

Note

Got my L plates today :D :D :D and went for my first [legal] drive on the road, but the car is a manual and the clutch is bloody annoying :( i should get used to it though (well, the rest of the world (sort of) has)

Strength & Conditioning (leg rehab (AM & PM)) 50:00 [1]

Saw the physio again today, and he says that the stuff he gave me is working :D (but then he would say that)

The exercises aren't too bad, except they are really boring, it is 3-5 reps of each stretch/exercise, but they are relatively static, so I can watch TV or read a book while doing them. I was reading "Dracula", it's a cool book, except it is old fashioned: one of the weirdest lines in it is 'Euthanasia' is an excellent and a comforting word! I am grateful to whoever invented it. wtf

Cricket 45:00 [3]

just bowling the whole time

Strength & Conditioning (leg rehab #2) 25:00 [1]

i'll probably just list both of them in the same session in future

Running 7:00 [2] 1.0 km (7:00 / km)

Ran around the block before I went to the physio to work out exactly how and where my leg hurt

Note

I went to the physio today. My legs are retarded.

Last time I went for a proper run (about a week ago!!!) my left shin hurt, so I decided to rest for a bit and see if it was just an overuse injury. It didn't go away so I had to go to the physio, he did all his stuff and decided that the shin pain was just a symptom of something much worse [cue drumroll/scary music etc.] "femural anteversion". It basically means that my thigh bone points more forward compared to my pelvis than it does for normal people. This causes the whole leg to have a tendency to rotate inwards (causing thing like pigeon toes).

The pain is because the "penoreal" muscles (which control the direction the foot is pointing in) are strained by having to correct the angle of the foot constantly.

The physio said that I had to halve running volume (whooo half of nothing :P) and that I needed to strengthen my "gluteus medius" (just behind the thighbone where it joins on the pelvis) because they are the muscles that control the rotation of the thigh.

:( :( :( :( :( :(

Note

And since I have nothing else to do (no school :D, after school cert and everyone else is doing work experience (im doing mine in two weeks) ) mum said I have to "find a major project" to do for this week. Since it has been something which dad has been trying to do for a while, I decided to (or was forced to) make a start on extending the deck

Strength & Conditioning 30:00 [1]

stuff for my leg, really boring and Im sposed to do this twice a day :(
