LRL Langdistanz Schonach
LL 7,4km, 110hm
The forest was wet, swampy and with very soft ground where running costs lots of strenght. Additionally there where lots of underwood, so running sometimes was really, really hard. And I was just too lazy to really push it, so ended up walking way too often.
Orienteering was OK.
Map:
http://bilder.m-ha.de/doma/index.php?user=Meike
Details:
To 1: Found the control allright, but slow. Also had to stop for 1 min. to retie my shoe.
To 2: Spiked. But all the paths were with very bad runability and I was in no mood to fight. Slow again.
To 3: Came too far left and it took me a moment to realize it. Had to fight my way through bad vegetation. 30s.
To 4: Slow, but spiked.
To 5, 6,7,8: Spiked.
To 9: Maybe wrong routechoice. Uta - who's a slower runner than me - went direct and was faster than me to the path crossing. 30s.
To 10: Spiked, but so slow.
To 11: A bit unsure in the end. 20s
To 12: OK
To 13: Biggest mistake of the race. Left the control a bit in the wrong direction (but wouldn't have been that bad), then made a 90degree-mistake when I hit the path, thought I was on another path and ran in the wrong direction. Then hit a stream (all ditches looked like streams today) and started to wonder. Took me real time to figure out what went wrong, after that found the control perfect. 3:40 lost.
To 14: Came a bit too far right. 45s until I figured it out.
To 15, 16, 17: Spiked.
A total of 6:45 of mistakes and too much walking...

BWM Middle Distance
4,1km LL, 160hm
At the beginning a very good race, that got busted by the 5th control hanging completely wrong :(
Am happy with most of my race, especially with the first part before the wrong control, but after wasting a lot of time looking around where the control setter may have hidden the control a was a bit frustrated and not motivated to push hard on the uphills.
Map:
http://bilder.m-ha.de/doma/index.php?user=Meike
Details:
To 1: Took the map and immediately realized that going straight was the only option to this control. Did it and spiked the control.
To 2: Another perfect hit.
To 3: Around left at the path. Think it was faster than the straight route. Started to get a good rhytm. Cool, this could be my day today...
To 4: Straight along the line, hit the control. Perfect.
To 5: First longer leg with a lot of climb. Lost time in the uphill part compared to another girl I catched at the second control. But still was reasonably fast. Came to the control a bit too far left, realized it when a saw the thicket and the stones, went right, saw the rootstock and arrived there after 11 min. - was really sure that I was right, but no control.
Should have just continued my race, but lacked the courage to do this. Instead of it, I started a fruitless search where the control setter may have misplaced the control - silly me :( Was joined in the search by two other runners and only after around 7 min. of searching decided to continue my race without the control. Then stumbled over the misplaced control on the way to the next control, at least 100m away from the real location. Lost about 7:30 there.
To 6: Slow walking through the stones, then attack the control from the path crossing and spiked it.
To 7: Straight again and perfect hit.
To 8: Wanted to go straight, but instead of going down the hill went along the contour. Don't know why, think my head was still busy with chastizing myself for beeing so silly and loosing masses of time at 5. After a while, had to stop cause I had a piece of wood in my shoe that buggered me. Took off the shoe, got rid of the wood and then realized that I was going in the wrong direction and was able to correct it. Lost 1:45 due to the wood in the shoe and maybe another minute because of the mistake.
From 8 until 13: All spiked.
To 14: Wanted to follow the path, didn't realize that it was above the control and saw something pathlike down the slope. Ran there, followed it a few meters and got stuck in the swamp. Had to go around the swamp. Maybe 45s lost. After the river crossing all went fine, but was too lazy on the uphill.
To 15: Spiked, but way to slow.
To 16: Spiked. Ran into a fence on the way there :(
To 17: Marked route.
To 18: A bit insecure in the fine orienteering. Maybe 15s lost.
To 19: Spiked, but lazy uphill.
To 20: Easy, but lazy again.

Running tempo 30:56 intensity: (30 @1) + (8:50 @2) + (4:53 @3) + (12:32 @4) + (4:11 @5) 4.8 km (6:27 / km)
ahr:156 max:170 shoes: Nike Free

A bit free time on hand, good weather and a not so hard training yesterday - just felt like doing a little bit more running today. Tried some kind of short tempo run:
1,6km warm up @6:50/km (HFavg 145)
2km "fast" @5:49/km (HFavg 165)
1,2km cool down @6:50/km (HFavg 160)
Plan was to run a faster part in the middle to get my legs used to a possible competition speed. Had hoped for a faster speed, but in the first 500mof the 2km legs felt very heavy and I wasn't able to get the heart rate as high as wanted, after that felt better. Would maybe have been able to go at this speed a while longer, but don't know how long - the heat made it really hard. Wasn't able to get my heart rate really down on the cool down, but still felt relax afterwards and would have been able to do the fast 2km again. But didn't want to do too much before the weekend...

With Uta. First 5km as usual in the usual speed (about 7:15/km), then Uta got some problems with her hamstrings and the rest was a mix of slow jogging and walking. We tried to cut the way back a little bit short, but weren't very succesful, only 500m shorter as usual.
