BRL Lang Bad Düben

Again in the same nice forest, just on the other side of the street. Enjoyed running there very much and had a good race until the second last control, where I was throwing it all away out of stupidity :(
Running at least was good most of the time, felt relatively strong and was able to push myself...

Details:
1) Slow, but spiked
2) Spiked, feeling slow, but maybe wasn't, 3. best split
3) Spiked, but had to take a 2:30 break in the bush due to stomach urges - should have done a bit longer warm up.
4) Spiked.
5) Was on the left clearing first, but realized it immediately. 15s
6,7,8) Spiked
9) A bit insecure in the circle, running a few meters in the wrong direction first. 30s
10) Spiked
11) Looking into the wrong depression first. 15s
12) Good route choice, but then in the end tried to shortcut a bit instead of staying downhill until the path. Thought when I hit the path I would be able to see the thicket - only the thicket wasn't there at all and no control where I was looking, only vague contours. Should have played it save, go back to the path and uphill, instead searched aimlessly a while, before remembering the save option. Was searching far too much downhill. 5 min. lost :(
13) Was taking the route through the farn, because as one of the last starters, there were a lots of paths for me there already. Spiked and running very fast the last part on the path and then to the finish because I was so annoyed with me for the mistake at 12.

German Champs Team-O, Open Categorie, was running with Lena and another girl from her club I didn't know before.
I volunteered to do the selection who would take with controls, as the other two weren't too keen on it and I love doing it. Made the mistake of giving our strongest runner all the longest loops, judging my form from 2 weeks ago - ended up with a much better running feeling physically than then and a good race orienteering wise and was the first on the last control. Waited 2 or 3 minutes for the second girl (good) and 20 min. for Lena - my mistake, I should have taken at least one of the outer loops. Was checking the split times later, if I'd taken the loop I should have taken we could have been around 10 min. faster...

My own race:
If I substract the time we stopped for control selection and the 20 min. wait, I was done in about 48 min. - not a super-fast time, but very good for me. Was a very nice forest to run in, love to come back there - apart from the mud bath I was taking once ;)
Details:
To A) Lena was leading, I was just trailing behind and trying to start with the selection of the non-mandatory controls.
Then about 6:30 to do the selection and control again if every control has someone who will go to it - maybe could have skipped the controlling, cause I never ever made a mistake there.
A-43) Slow, trying to get a hang of the map, but spiked.
43-B) Didn't know exactly were I was when leaving the thicket, didn't check the compass carefully and run far to far right first. 1 min.
B-C) Together with Lena. Spicked.
C-38) Spicked
38-D) A bit insecure in the end where exactly the control is. 30s
D-E) Spicked the control, but lost a bit time when ending up stuck thight-hight in mud with both legs after jumping over a small stream - wasn't the only one taking a mud bath there ;)
E-F) Spicked
F-35) Too far left. 30s
35-56) That control wasn't planned for me, but as I came across it using it as an early attackpoint for the next one I of course took it, too.
56-G) Spicked
G- 36) Spicked, easy
36-81) Control was a bit further up the hill than I expected. 20s
81-100) Easy of course ;)
2:20 mistakes out of 48 min. running time. 4,86%
