Nightsprint in Garching, DPT.
A bit long for a sprint (2,8km, winning time 25 min.
My aim was to keep a good flow and never let myself be tempted to walk - after a bad start to the first control (stopped a few times until I got into the map and figured out how to do that orienteering thing). Started a bit to fast and got slower towards the end, but apart from somewhere around control 4 I suceeded in my "do not walk"-challenge. Funniest thing I can see in the splits is that I had the least relative deficit to the winner in the long legs - does that mean that it wasn't the running speed that costed me most time?
Details:
1) More or less slowly walked the first 20s until I figured out the map and the start triangle, then 2 more 10s stops on the way because I was still confused. About 30s lost in total.
2) Took the longer route (left around the buildung instead of right) because I didn't recognize that there was a passage to the control on the other route. Lost not much time on most of the others there (so maybe they were taking the same route), but lost 30s to Lena, who was taking the other route. Considering that she normally is the faster runner, but I was on a good pace for me on that leg, I think I may lost about 15s on that route choice.
13) Wasn't seeing the control in the bush, ran too far and had to turn back. 10s
15) Another control in the bush, was too careful after 13 and slowed and stopped to soon. 15s
