Orienteering race 32:30 [4] 3.9 km (8:20 / km) +185m 6:44 / km

Scottish Relay's at Balmoral.

Adhoc team with Joe Taunton and Alice.

2nd leg and pretty clean so quite happy.

Great weekend. Remarkably easy drive up to Gretna on Thursday evening . Nice walk up Ben Vorlich on Friday followed by great hospitaility from the Inman's. Threatened downpour on Saturday didn't materialise. And then another amazingly smooth journey home - Just over 8hrs driving from Balmoral

Orienteering race 1:09:37 [4] 6.6 km (10:33 / km) +340m 8:23 / km

Scottish Champs at Balmoral.

Ok run. Missed a minute on 4 - stayed too high but was able to correct quite quickly. Not very secure to 5 and was probably bit lucky to see control. Looks like I lost a bit on steep downhilll from 11 but otherwise the second half went OK. Ended up 2nd nearly 5 mins down on Billbo. But beat all the Scots - just...

Great wood, but I think planning could have been a bit better - less climb and more technically challenging possible I think. Similarly did the Mens elite really need 34 controls? Having said that, Alice's course looked fine. And really looking forward to running here again in 2018.

Orienteering race 58:50 [4] 8.3 km (7:05 / km) +137m 6:33 / km

BOK Army Champs - Score event - in New Beechenhurst. Reasonably obvious what the best (or close to best) route was. Made a minute or so mistake towards the end - miss reading the map by some lakes close to the North Western tips. Cost me at least one or possibly two other controls I might have got at the end. Don't think I could quite have got them all tho'.

Shoes bright yellow at the end - covered in Bluebell Pollen.

Run 1:20:00 [3] 12.5 km (6:24 / km) +200m 5:56 / km

Out across Ashton Cort then into Providence and Ashton Hill plantation for a change. Back via some footpaths we've not used before - reasonably clear of vegetation but fields pretty rough and rutted. Bumped into Matt Franklin out cycling in Fifty Acre Wood
