Orienteering race 48:20 [4] 6.37 km (7:35 / km) +70m 7:12 / km
BOK Club Championships at Stock Hill. Novelty score event - bonuses for taking controls in ascending sequence. Worked Ok as a way of making maximum use of a small area, tho' found myself spending more time strategising - "where am I going to go next" - than proper orienteering - finding the next control as efficiently as possible. But an enjoyable outing.
First time I have run on the latest incarnation of the map , and it is horendously overmapped. and cluttered by overlapping depressions - the worst example of that particular trait that I have ever seen. Sympathy for any mapper because it must be a very difficult area to map - but Harvey's succeeded with the first incarnation - and produced a very useable map. Just hope they employ one of the more skilled mappers - a Marcus, Bilbo, Steve Barret type - before the proposed British Middles there.
