Had hoped I would have enough time to get to top of Ben Vrackie after getting the Juniors back to the hostel, but I had forgotten about the team manager's meeting so had to settle for a brief out and back part way. Great day for a run - crisp sunny and very autumnal with all the trees looking stunning.

Note

12 hours in a minibus. On route to JHI. Fortunately 3 drivers and Alice drew the short straw with the worst bit of stop / start traffic.

Sort of reprise of the long run i did with Old Daniel two weeks ago. Slightly different routes up Myndd Machen and over to Mynydd y Lan via Cwmfelinfach ( rather than Wattsville). Nice path up thru the forestry. Then over Twmbarlwm (instead of round via the canal). Legs pretty much giving up there - Old Daniel pulling away. And generally feeling worse than I did two weeks ago. - maybe I have got something ? But worth doing and feeling a bit better after an old man's nap now......

Twmbarlwm with Alice. Yesterday's sore throat came to nothing, so should be ok for my date with Old Daniel tomorrow.

MDC run from Llantrisant. I had a bit of a sore throat, so opted to lead the steady group. loop up and around the forest - a fair bit of new thinning, but didn't spot any extra clear felling. Then on to Mynydd Meiros. took path down to W that I've not been on before, and back along the edge of the common by Ewent fach which was great - should go there again.

Under strict orders to keep run short so that we could get to the Barn before last food orders. Good job we did - it took them the best part of an hour to serve our food in anycase.
