Run race 24:40 [4] 5.0 km (4:56 / km) +97m 4:30 / km

Dundee parkrun. Took it very warily to start, but ankle felt OK. Tried to push on a bit more - saw Alice ahead and started catching her, but decided it really wouldn't be gentlemanly to overtake her in the last 500m .

A lovely course - one of the nicest I have run. Snowdrops out. Shame Kris missed his own record by 1s. But a great start to a lovely day.

With Alice on same loop as Tuesday. But felt a bit better on the ankle and a minute or so quicker.

Mountain Bike 1:18:32 [3] 18.2 km (4:19 / km) +430m 3:52 / km

Up Mountain rd to just below Twmbarlwm, rthen round the forest track to Cwmcarn. One of the plus points of all the larch felling is how it has opened up the views along there. As we finished our last bit of Christmas cake yesterday., I had a good excuse for a cofee and cake stop in the vistors centre. And then back via the canal.

I wouldn't count myself as a cyclist, but I have really enjoyed the few cycle rides this last week.

Little try out on the ankle. Down the lane and back along the canal with Alice. OK but not brilliant, going to be cautious for a while.

Mountain Bike 1:46:00 [3] 20.3 km (5:13 / km) +340m 4:49 / km

A loop from Goytre to Bryn and then up into Margam forest. Forest looks like it has matured quite a bit in the 4 years since Croeso - many blocks a shade lighter green perhaps. Also might be worth extending the map to the south. Some very runnable blocks - albeit probably without much detail.

Even though the pace has been very gentle, thigh muscles certainly feeling the 4 days cycling on the trot
