Orienteering 1:00:00 [2] 3.0 km (20:00 / km) +30m 19:03 / km

Hanging some tapes for Talent South training at Nettlebed in the Chilterns. Plus a talk O exercise with Troy.

Cold and a littl bit damp, but great to be back in the forest with the youngsters. They seemed to enjoy it and I hope they found it worthwhile. Forest in a lot better condition than I had been led to believe - many of the mapped areas of brambles now clear - being eaten by the Mountjack deer according to Roger. Similar impact on the brambles to the wild boar in the FoD, but without leaving it like running in a ploughed field.

Cwmcarn via the canal, or at least that was the plan. Canal towpath closed - for 32 weeks according to the sign - so dropped down thru Cross Keys and took forest track along the other side of the vally before going back across and into Cwmcarn.

Went up to Brynmawr to check out what parking options might now exist for Clydach terrace for training - after all the great dualing works there. not terribly promising yet , but once all work is completed there might be some possibilities. Ran over the mountain to the quarries and back.
