7 PM

Run 1:14:27 [3] 8.67 km (8:35 / km) +321m 7:15 / km

A new MDC route from the old quarry above Quakers Yard. Have often looked up at this as we've driven along the A470 and wondered what it is like. Very nice as it happens, with the added classic MDC bonus of 800m thru a disused and unlit railway tunnel. Are there many other fell running clubs which like to spend so much time undergound ?

Alice and I led the steady group thru the tunnel first, up a single track - once we had navigated thru some amazonian rain forest to get to it - eventually up to Twyn Brynbychan. Then back down the ridge with great views on either side.

Monday May 24 #

12 PM

Run 42:44 [3] 6.23 km (6:52 / km) +143m 6:09 / km

Craig y Wenallt, Mescoed Mawr, Golf course loop. Timed well to avoid thunder storms.

Sunday May 23 #

12 PM

Orienteering race 1:15:04 [3] 9.44 km (7:57 / km) +325m 6:47 / km

Short Brown at Chiltern Challenge on Hambledon.

A lot of stinging nettles which pushed one off the optimum line a few times, but no excuse for 5 mins or so of errors. Getting myself properly fit will take a while, but i should really fix the navigation.
