Sunday (71km, 1901m, 3:15) - Over Col du Glandon, up to Croix du Fer, then back down to Bourg.
• Top part of Glandon needs respect in both directions

Col de Revard from Aix. 22km all up then straight back down. Weather very Yorkshire, and some urban navigation difficulties . Really enjoyed the climb, didn't push but felt well in control. Zinging descent and really could have done with a bigger gear ! Learned alot.

Friday 28/6: Champagne Tour : ( 1:43, 46km, 450m)
Just an excuse to stretch legs after a long drive. Usual faff finding one’s way out of an unfamiliar town, but quickly up through the vinyards and out-and-back to a couple of villages.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]

Final visit to Staithes so the map is now complete by definition. It will be really interestihg to see what people make of the intricate part.
Drenched, so not in shape or mood to test run a course.

Fryup Dale loop, in very windy and often wet weather. Felt really weak, perhaps due to poor diet over past 48 hours, and struggled get going.

Steady over to Ingleby Then Jill's midsummer sponsored cycle ride at sedate pace. Slow, Inspirational evening out in terrific weather. There's still time to donate to Great North Ambulance - you never know when you may need it to save your life, as it almost certainly did for Jill.

CW Sunday, with the faster group. Difficult to pin down why but this was one of the most enjoyable club rides so far. Its a combination of no hassle, no mechanicals, people generally knowing whats what, some good banter, good weather and a good pace (around 32kph average). No problem with the pace but it was impressive to see Harry T take off from time to time - good to see what a prem rider can do.

Mainly a shakedown run round town after some fettling. Threw in 8 hills seated, big ring. Fun.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]
shoes: Yellow Swoops 5

Another (final) 2 hours surveying Staithes, tweaking and suchlike. Some running around so am logging it.
Rather frustrating that the July event is still short of an organiser so may not happen.

CW Tuesday - Kildale Hills.
Steady with hard intervals up the 5 hills. Felt strangely strong on the hills, only strange in comparison to last weekend.

Early to Osmotherley, Hawnby, Helmsley, Fandale then all the bumps back home. Great to have Karen to stretch the elastic and show what good looks like.

Hilly East Cleveland ride. Still not feeling sparkling but seemed to be moving OK.
