Liverton, Danby Beacon, Castleton, Ayton. Lovely road loop with enough hills and wind to be testing and enough views to be enjoyable.

Bousdale, Unsuits, Gribdale, Sleddale, quarry, home .. with a few loops. As per usual, took half an hour to get going.

Tuesday Jul 20, 2010 #

Run 1:31:00 [3]
shoes: Blue Swoops 3

HC, Gribdale, HS, Rhodo climb, home.
Very clammy weather and horrible indigestion; I'm out of practice at eating lunch at lunchtime. Legs fine. It felt like a plod but must be doing some good.

S & C 20:00 [3]

3 * legs set, plus stretching while TdeF'ing.

Sunday Jul 18, 2010 #

Ride US 3:02:00 [3]
shoes: Whyte Full Sus

Back in the day (before orienteering took over), I had a default medium length MTB route - any way to Kildale, tarmac climb onto Battersby moor, Bloworth, top of Baysdale, Kildale, Cpt COoks, and home. Summer evenings, winter mornings - odds on I would do this route.
Its been a while but eventually got out there again this morning. Very windy but warm, and really enjoyable to ride those tracks again. Overall things haven't changed much, apart from some shooting tracks having been improved and me getting a bit slower. 60 minutes saw me to the small climb on Battersby moor though, which isn't too shabby and not too far off the olden days.

Saturday Jul 17, 2010 #

Run 1:15:00 [3]

Long run did not materialise for domestic reasons, so Westworth, Commondale track, HC, home. Awful to begin with, but felt better as run went on - a common theme.

Friday Jul 16, 2010 #

S & C 20:00 [3]

Ride US 1:40:00 [3]
shoes: Whyte Full Sus

Loopy route with all the Hills in Guis and Hutton Woods. Pedalling alot more smoothly but still not great technically. Feel that I just need another 20 hours in the saddle to get it back.

All these loops are because I cant be arsed carrying any tubes//tools etc so have to keep within reasonable freewheeling distance of home.

Wednesday Jul 14, 2010 #

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Blue Swoops 3

Evening event in Guisb: up to car park, putting out controls, collecting in half, then back up again for the one that Jenn couldn't see in the gloom.

Tuesday Jul 13, 2010 #

Ride US 1:15:00 [3]

Note
(rest day)

Long drive back home. Somewhere around Glencoe, I definitely decided that the Purple Thistle is just too far away.

With Jenn. SLigachan through pass to Camasunary, then around coast path to Elgol. Relentless rain which obscured the scenery. Memorable morning out though.
