Wolds were glorious, Dalby Forest road very fast and swoopy but the final section of NYM was a grind into wind, drizzle and seemingly all uphill. Really enjoyed it!

Ride US 1:45:00 [3]

East Cleveland loop. Carried away on three Strava segments and rode those hard, otherwise easy.
Sight of the day- three bare chested tattooed teenagers queuing for a bus, open can of lagerin one hand and carrying basket of racing pigeons in the other. Its another world in Liverton Mines.

Note
(rest day)

Decorating is nowhere near complete so no Welsh trip for me.
This is sad as it'll be the first year without at least part of a UK Multiday since about 2002. However the past 2 months of travel seem to have left a huge list of non-urgent but important domestic stuff undone, and on balance I'll feel better staying at home, ticking it off and enjoying the local terrain. "Getting Shit Done" as Jenn would say.

I feel frustrated as I was eager to see how my cycling legs and a few pounds extra lightness would translate into orienteering, especially on two of the easier vets cup races. And also keen simply to orienteer as I've deliberately withdrawn over the past couple of months. I'll have to find some Autumn target races but draw the line at going to the White Rose. I'm not that desperate.
