XFit 40:00 [3]

Today Mom and I woke up at 5:30 AM again for another Cross-Fit challenge courtesy of her co-worker Shawn. This one was called "So You Think You Can Dance?" and one loop included:

16 x plank cross lift with 2.5 lbs. in each hand

8 x "The Chop" crunches with one 2.5 lbs. weight.

16 x foreward plank on arms

16 x lunges with curl(2.5 lbs. in each hand)

8 x full body squats with 2.5 lbs in each hand

We did four loops each and it took us 40 mins. The foreward plank was definitely the hardest part of the challenge, especially because we did two loops without it and had to make it up in the third loop. I found it easier than the last challenge ( I'm still finding the push-ups difficult) but it was still very tiring and I missed my tea again.

XFit 25:00 [3]

Today, one of Mom's colleagues challenged us to another cross-fit routine at 5:30 am! It was pretty difficult because of all the push-ups(I had to switch to modified again!) but I managed to do 7 loops in the 25 minutes that we had.

Each loop included:

Push-ups x 10

Crunches(with excersize ball) x 10

Full-body squats(knees to elbows, holding 2.5 lbs. medicine ball in each hand) x 8

Body Press x 10

It was difficult but at least I'm awake now! I even skipped my usual cup of caffienated tea this morning. Tomorrow, I will go running, and then Mom and I will wake up early again on Friday to do another round of this. Hopefully I will have improved.

Running 16:53 [2] 3.0 km (5:38 / km)
ahr:111 max:201 rhr:70

I went running on a short route today in Fish Creek along the Bow River. I took a heart rate monitor with me, and I sprinted the last 100m or so of my route, which is why my maximum heart rate was 201 beats per minute. It took around ten minutes for me to get my heart rate down to 90 bpm, so I think I need to go running more often. Unfortunately, nothing interesting happened on my run, besides the fact that my shoes managed to untie themselves and I had to stop for a few seconds to tie them again.

xfit - week 1 30:00 [5]

I did something called Cross-Fit with Mom today. This involved the following:

- 15 squats while holding a 2 1/2 lbs. medicine ball

- 10 push-ups (full and modified)

- 10 body lifts

I repeat this routine until I can't do any more. I did ten repeats of the routine but that involved several rest stops, unfortunately. I started out with full push ups, but after the fifth time around the loop I had to switch to modified(on my knees instead). Hopefully, I will do this consistently and become stronger, however I am a terrible self-motivator, so we'll see.
