Note

EMPO Columbus Day meet at Grafton Lakes State Park.

Green course at EMPO meet/Grafton Lakes State Park. Pat Dunlavey was meet director and he updated the map in the area he used, so it was excellent. :-) No mistakes, but noticed I kept drifting off to the right on bearings--I'll have to work on that. Lots of rocky areas underfoot and on trails.

Walked around the quilts (and vendors) at the Berkshire Quilt Festival, then came home to do some quilting (machine quilting, that is) myself.

New Lebanon Fall Festival 5K race @ 9:30 am

Running (paved) race 32:41 [5] 3.1 mi (10:33 / mi)
shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 1

New Lebanon fundraiser 5K. Just one hill (but it's a biggie, right in the middle of the course--had to walk twice on the steepest parts). Best 5K I've run in a long time; not sure why. Over a minute faster than last year. Splits: 10:52*, 10:11, 10:20, 1:17 (*1st mile is where most of the climb is; mile 2 is all downhill.)

The hill is the slope before and after the 1 mile marker.

Rob, despite his hill training (walking), hasn't been doing much running otherwise, and walked some of the course too; ~28 min.

Walked a little bit on the Lehigh campus while waiting for Rob's class to finish (3-1/2 hours down; 4 hours back via alternate route chosen to avoid the worst of the holiday traffic in NJ and so. NY). Cool and breezy.

Another good workout, but I got there late enough that there weren't enough heavy weights (8-10 lbs) to go around (unless I wanted 15 pounders for my "heavies;" I'm not there yet!).
