Orienteering race (night-O) 42:24 [2] *** 2.0 km (21:12 / km) +51m 18:48 / km
spiked:11/11c shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 #3

Night-O at Ratlum, conditions ideal (~30 and clear, little snow on the ground; trails mostly frozen)

Concerned about how long it's been since I did night-O (and that was out in the wide-open west), I opted for the shorter course. It took longer than I expected. I found them all without any problem (thanks to super-reflective tape), but the Attackpoint splits show 'errors' at 3, 5, and 8. I do remember leaving 2 in the wrong direction and ending up on the north side of the fenced area and doubling back to catch the trail through to 3. On 5 I was slow from were I left the smaller trail until I reached the large one, even though it was a short distance (on the map). And on 8, I didn't find the indistinct trail and ended up doubling back out the way I went in, making the leg a bit longer.

Note
(rest day)

Dr appointment at normal Pilates time. There must be a rule that says you can't see patients at their appointed time, but you can penalize them for being late (I wasn't) but can make them wait as long as you want (35 minutes in my case, plus the 15-minutes-early they wanted me to arrive to "check in").

Went to look at Polartec pullovers at LL Bean but didn't find the one that's in the catalog. Strolled down to Barnes&Noble to get a cookbook for my MIL. Then decided to skip any other exercise and just come on home. Too cold to do anything outside (CWW-ism strikes again).

Tomorrow's another day.

Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

Hips surprisingly tight from yesterday's Pilates--worked it out.

Did a repair job on the toilet flush arm in the building (American Legion hall)--we'll see if it holds up.

Pilates class 55:00 [1]

Using elastic bands -good workout for upper body as well as hips and thighs. Oh, and core too, of course.

Walking (Treadmill) 37:16 [2] 2.5 mi (14:54 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 # 3

Warmup, then hills at 3.5% for a couple miles or so. Cooled down another quarter mile. Just can't seem to get myself running.
