Orienteering race 1:16:30 [3] *** 4.43 km (17:17 / km) +157m 14:41 / km
spiked:10/11c slept:7.0 shoes: Inov8 ORoc280-A 2013-08

HVO Westmoreland Sanctuary. Three shorter courses or Brown (3.3 km) or Red (5.8 km). Red looked hilly so I went on Brown which had plenty of climb too. Missed on #3 and spent extra time in woods higher up than necessary (misidentified the wide reentrant...).

Between that extra wandering and the wide right route I took (intentionally) from 5-6, I suppose that accounts for a km extra covered. Short distance between 10 and 11 was blocked by a fairly large downed tree which was difficult for me to cross (too high to just sit on to swing my legs over, but there was a branch I could use to pull myself up and over).

Pilates class (weights) 50:00 [1]
slept:6.5

Class started in a supine position, well, all except for me because I'm at the end of a cold and would have had a coughing fit so I remained seated. :-) Not as much hip work as Tuesday for which I was thankful.

Walk/Jog 31:10 intensity: (3:44 @1) + (19:47 @2) + (7:39 @3) 2.2 mi (14:10 / mi)

3:44 cool down
Encouraged by the amount of jogging my knee tolerated in Hanover, and inspired by the woman jogging/walking pushing a stroller with her two-month old baby :-), I gave some jogging laps a go. Will try to keep this up as log as my knee tolerates it.

Exerc. Class 50:00 [2]
slept:7.5

First good night of sleep in a week.

Hips were very tight, especially the left one, today (typically the right hip is tighter) so not sure what that's all about unless it was from Pilates yesterday. If it goes away that will be perfect.

Lots of aerobics with some new moves thrown in to keep things interesting. Think I might have gotten my heart rate up higher than typically.

Pilates class 50:00 [1]
slept:7.5

We had to drive to eastern PA yesterday so not much time to decompress from the weekend (and my inbox is filling up with OUSA/USOF requests). Class was good, but neither of us felt up to anything after, so we'll have lunch, shop to refill the poor empty fridge, and then get home.

Orienteering 19:00 [3] **** +24m
spiked:14/15c shoes: 2015 Altra LP2.0-9 lime

Time is actual, and watch distance (1.6 km) is wrong because watch didn't find satellites early enough.

Lost time around the unmapped roped-off "wet paint" near #2 but everyone had the same situation.

Encountered Thierry (TGIF on AP) twice on my course (in the first few controls before road crossing); he had an earlier start time because he wasn't world ranked on the sprint, but he finished third overall.

Fun campus sprint, and fun to spectate the elite relay after. I wish these could be scheduled differently to have more folks around. (Sprint--Long--Middle? over a holiday weekend)
