Trail on S side of Beltzville Lake in southern Carbon Co. while Glen ran. Low 50s and sunny, though sun didn't always poke through trees on this northwest facing slope.

Jogged a few stretches where trail was flat or downhill, where I didn't think I could hurt myself. And I stopped here and there to take photos, mostly of flowers as there wasn't much in the way of wildlife.

Also took a photo of this castle (unfinished residence) which is very visible from where I was across the lake.

Neighborhood-hill loop.

Cloudy, breezy, 45 with some occasional fine drizzle. Not too many people out to avoid today.

We returned to the local Burkhart Preserve so I could check out some wildflowers I'd seen before. (Glen ran.) Around 50 and mostly sunny and not too breezy once you left the ridge.

One is a new one to me: toadshade (not toadstool) trillium. Most of the examples I saw were in the middle of or right next to the trail. I also saw one young jack in the pulpit, a number of small white flowers (about 3/4-1" across with tiny leaves up near the flower head, and a lot of invasive garlic mustard.

I stopped various places to take photos but didn't stop my watch. Saw one other person there besides Glen but avoided trails he was on.

Lehigh Gap, from parking lot at west end of LNE trail, while Glen ran. Mid 50s and mostly sunny.

LNE Trail to Prairie Grass Trail; Chestnut Oak Trail on the way back to Double G Loop. We checked out the "arboretum" afterwards which had mostly tiny specimens, but anything that grows on that slope is a success!
