Tyler training, first half of Green course (1-8) that I hadn't been to last time here and avoiding the green fields between 8 and 12. I had been to 12-17 on the brown course two weeks ago. Overshot #4 (confused by the disc golf openings) and doubled back to it. Did not find streamers at 2, 3, 6, or 7 but I was there.

After 8, I climbed out of the valley to the paved path. Low 60s and sunny...gorgeous day for O!
12 PM

Walk/Jog 23:15 intensity: (6 @1) + (10:47 @2) + (10:43 @3) + (1:02 @4) + (37 @5) 2.18 km (10:39 / km) +13m 10:20 / km

Back to car from road past #8. Part along the Neshaminy Cr. was singletrack with some muddy spots to skirt. One fisherman (beyond the ones at the dam I went back to look at). Pedestrians at the last bridge crossing so I pulled my half-buff up there.

Most people in the park are not wearing masks. A few older people are.

Walking 1:16:05 intensity: (28:54 @0) + (35:26 @1) + (10:39 @2) + (1:06 @3) 2.85 km (26:43 / km)
ahr:88 max:135

Stopped at the Quakertown swamp, looking for birds.

Saw a number of turtles, disturbed a momma duck and three babies, and discovered a heron rookery with at least 45 nests, not all active, on the west side of Muskrat Rd. Mid 60s, still sunny.

Wanted to get out before predicted heavier rain this afternoon (though that hasn't happened yet, at 2pm). Low 50s and a bit of drizzle, breezy. I contemplated more looping in the community but was getting cold.

Stopped a couple times to check out birds in the storm basins at the new town park. One had a couple of Yellowlegs (one each size, I think), and a couple others had lots of swallows flying over (both tree and barn varieties).

Stroll at Franko Farm Park, looking for birds with Glen. Saw a few, heard a lot more.

61 and partly cloudy.

Towards Saucon Rail Trail and back. Did a bit of bushwhacking on a trail we knew about (between Landis Mills Rd and the rail trail) and made it through except for the last dip which had a rotten piece of wood in it which knocked me off balance. Good thing I don't care about funny looks from other trail users. ;-D

Then around the community, partly to see if the wading birds were still there (they weren't).

Upper 60s and partly sunny

To PO to mail a card, then back home with a few extra loops. Near 80 and sunny.

Stopped at one of the storm drainage ponds in the community because I saw something different...at least five waterbirds of some sort, possibly upland sandpipers, tho AllAboutBirds shows male and female looking the same and there were two different colorations among the ones I saw.

I only had my older smartphone along which takes lousy photos unless you're close to something. I don't suppose they'd still be there after dinnertime.
7 PM

Walking 29:09 intensity: (12:25 @0) + (5:06 @1) + (10:49 @2) + (47 @3) + (2 @4) 1.39 km (20:59 / km)
ahr:92 max:137

Went to the storm basin and the water birds were still there (I counted 6). Local Audubon Facebook group founder ID'd them as greater and lesser yellowlegs, and a dowitcher. (There was also a mallard in the water...)

Didn't stop my watch while I took photos
