Mostly walking, with some short jogging spurts. No HR strap so some of that data is pretty bogus (especially as I was climbing the hill on Applebutter Hill Rd, where it dipped to 89...really? ;-) ). Clear blue sky (no smoky haze) and about 61F.

Did this loop counterclockwise which makes the climb to the highest point slightly less strenuous.

Saw some smushed wildlife: one toad and five snakes (garter snake size), and a dead squirrel (at least *it* wasn't plastered down into the pavement).

Exploring some trails at Lums Pond in northern Delaware, on the way home from southern Delaware. :-) About 70, overcast; mosquitoes in the inland wooded trails. Saw a couple of great blue herons, and some bluebirds in the field near parking.

There was recent wind damage to a lot of tulip poplar trees, which were uprooted or completely knocked down, likely from TS Isaias in early August. Trails had been cleared, at least where we were.

Around the Peninsula community. Overcast (rain from TS Sally coming in later today) and mid 70s and getting more humid.

Other (Kayaking) 1:28:40 intensity: (56:23 @0) + (21:47 @1) + (6:24 @2) + (4:06 @3) 4.21 km (21:03 / km)

Rented kayaks from Coastal Kayak south of Bethany Beach and explored the east side of Little Assawoman Bay. Saw a great blue heron consume a fish at the S tip of our exploration, then checked out other houses there including one under construction.

Seal Island that appears on both the plain map and satellite versions is *not* there. There IS a manmade structure at approximately the southwest north end of the "island" where we checked out the half dozen cormorants resting.

Then we headed north of the put-in place to check out the shoreline. Saw a couple more herons, a couple ospreys, a sandpiper type bird and a only a couple gulls. Probably busier earlier or later in the day....

Nice outing! 70s and wind had changed to coming from the SE and not very strong so paddling was relatively easy.

Biking 2:31:52 intensity: (42:14 @0) + (25:01 @1) + (40:32 @2) + (35:53 @3) + (8:12 @4) 29.85 km (5:05 / km)

Lewes-Rehoboth Region Bike/Pedestrian loop, starting at the Tanger Outlets off Rt 1N, including the Junction & Breakwater (J&B) Trail (gravel), Gills Neck Rd, Freeman Hwy, Savannah Rd, Cape Henlopen Dr (all paved; stopped at the Bathhouse in Cape Henlopen SP for a break), then CHSP bike loop to Herring Point (where we took another break) and the Gordons Pond trail (some gravel) where I took photos of egrets and herons and other aquatic birds; to Ocean Rd and Henlopen Ave in Rehoboth, and Rt 1A for a short spell (paved) until we could turn off again to get back to the J&B (gravel) and the outlet parking lot. Whew!

Hazy sun (smoke high in atmosphere from wildfires out west) and upper 60s to 70.

Burton's Island nature trail in southern Delaware. To be avoided unless it's not mosquito season. We saw a few egrets and an unknown small (immature?) heron, but otherwise it was a mosquitofest.
1 PM

Walking 32:18 intensity: (4:17 @0) + (27:17 @1) + (44 @2) 2.0 km (16:09 / km)
ahr:91 max:108

Beach walk; Delaware Seashore State Park, Towers Rd lot. We also went "in" the ocean but not far (up to knees, mostly?) because the wind was coming from the NNE and waves were crazy (hurricane Paulette way out in the Atlantic). Water was warm enough, though.
