Note

No exercise today--legs are a bit tired/sore and today is national quilting day so I joined others in my quilt group to work on making quilts to give away. (I also did a demo on trapunto by machine.)

11 AM

Running (paved) long 1:04:09 [3] 5.5 mi (11:39 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 2

How could I not run outside? Low 60s and sunny -- beautiful day (I love spring).

Out and back on Bashford Road which is all dirt except for the first (and therefore last) tenth of a mile. No snow or even mud to be seen. I was able to run up all the hills (there's a 0.2mi-long one at about 1.35 mi, plus some shorter ones), though I almost faltered in the last mile.

Saw my first wildflowers (yellow, a type of aster, I think) plus someone's crocuses or jonquils in the woods. Goldfinches are at the bird feeder along with red-winged blackbirds (seen first a few days ago). Almost time to stop feeding the birds (so as not to attract waking bears!).

Billygoat training.

Note

Found my wildflower -- it's colts foot.

10 AM

Pilates class 55:00 [1]
slept:7.75

At the Y, using weights only (besides body weight, of course). Skipped side planks as usual as they aggravate my right shoulder which has been acting up all week anyway.
3 PM

Note

May not get out again today (but tomorrow should be nice too). Eye appt. after the Y and I had my eyes dilated (it's such an odd feeling when it starts...). It's too bright.

9 AM

Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

In Chatham. Today is the birthday of the eldest member of the class who is also Jennifer's go-to person. She turns 79. Jennster made chocolate-dipped strawberries and apricots - yum!
4 PM

Note

Picked up sticks/branches in the yard--an excellent day to do so!

Tuesday Mar 16, 2010 #

10 AM

Pilates class 55:00 [1]

At the Y. Plan to walk or run outside later today--it's beautiful!
12 PM

Walking 20:00 [2]

In Albany, after visiting the Albany Visitor's Center which had an exhibit of little quilts from a local guild (not mine). Walked to the Albany walkway over the highway to the riverfront and around a bit there, then up to Pearl St. and back to my car.
4 PM

Walking hills 29:28 [3] 2.0 mi (14:44 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 #4-Y

Up Pratt Rd. to mile turnaround and back. Beautiful day, 61 and sunny! Love it.

Monday Mar 15, 2010 #

10 AM

Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

In Chatham. I noticed the leg muscles I worked on the treadmill yesterday.

Sunday Mar 14, 2010 #

11 AM

Pilates class 55:00 [1]

Sunday at the Y, partly because my weekday instructor Mary was subbing, and partly because I wimped out on O in CT (windy, cold, possible rain... my favorite conditions---not!).
12 PM

Hiking hills (treadmill) 1:00:00 [3] 3.89 mi (15:26 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 # 3

Hills on the treadmill (2.5-8.5% inclines) on a variable course. Listtened to "Wait, Wait..." and part of Fresh Air segment on the recession.

Walking warm up/down (treadmill) 5:00 [1] 0.26 mi (19:15 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 # 3
