Orienteering on Leaps. Steady with a few misses, to low on 2, to right on 5. Started off steady and picked it up half way round.

Run out with Toby. Lap of Grasmoor. Up Gasgale gill, Coledale Hause, Whiteless and then down Rannerdale. Good run but was a little chilly in the rain on the top.

Ennerdale recce from Buttermere. Scarth Gap, Blackbeck Tarn, Green Gable, Kirkfell, Pillar, Haycock, Ironcrag, High Crag and down to the car park. Recced all the lines and took my time getting round enjoying the weather.

Sams class on the Hay. Ran there and then warmed up with everyone. Then pushed on up the hill for the first threshold effort (5 minutes). Then 4*3 minutes threshold effort working both up/downhill running. The storm slowly came in and the rain/lightning came fast. Pretty atmospheric running down the hill with lightning striking the town. 5*10secs effort on the way down.

Gallopen at Threlkeld. Helped at the start and then ran the brown. Didn't feel great to begin with but got into it after 20 mins. Clean orienteering, rocky terrain so was over cautious. Beautiful day to be out.

Up and down to the start twice and then back from the finish.

Sale fell score event. Watching everyone go off in that direction, decided to go the other way and I think it ended up being a better route choice. Felt pretty strong.

Warm up - jog up the hill and warm down in the park

First time racing the Latrigg race. Good field turned up so good racing by the top guys. Hard all the way up, died a little 3/4 way up but then picked it up on the contour. Descended well picking off two places and I didn't get chicked this week. Feet started to burn on the track down to the road reminding me not to do Skiddaw this year. Ended up 11th/92

Back to Sams class. Out on the fells which is good, nice evening for it. A mix of fast short reps and threshold reps working on downhill running. Good to get a interval session done.

Helped at the Sailbeck race by being a sweeper with Lucy. A slow jog/walk round with the guy in last most of the way. Not great weather but it could of been worse.

Lords Seat fell race. Aim was to run strongly and to beat my time from last year. I beat my time by 30 seconds and felt like I ran strongly. Down side was that I was the first person to get chicked which amused Phil and Todd.

Pre-breakfast run. Feels odd not to be at work. Ran the old 7km loop

Checking controls in Borrowdale for my event, should be good with the river crossings and a impressive control site.

Northern Champs. Again just went out to enjoy the technical orienteering. Was having a good run with no mistakes moving well through the forest until 15 when I just didn't take in the features well enough and drifted off. Steady after for a bit and then started to make little errors and tired. Some positive orienteering again.

LOC middle race. Really nice technical area, went out to just enjoy the orienteering. Some positive orienteering and some not so. Legs still not 100%.

Summer series event at Scale hill. Nice piece of woodland and open fell. Steady orienteering with no mistakes, losing time when the controls were in the wrong place but so did most people. Didn't really push it with my legs still feeling last weekend.
