Mountain Biking 26:58 [3]
slept:8.5 (injured) shoes: DHB MTB Shoes

Another spin on my mountain bike today. This time I cycled from Belford to Detchant, and a short way into the forest and back. All fine, no problems or pain.

Mountain Biking 45:00 [3]
slept:7.5 (injured) shoes: DHB MTB Shoes

Finished the day with a 45min spin on my mountain bike from St Cuthberts Cave car park through Detchant and back to Belford. Bridleway along Greensheen was lovely and 100% rideable, Duncan Moffat's field was cut up and very muddy and I came off on a rut, rest was fine, even though the southward leg was very windy.

Pool Running 40:21 [3]
ahr:128 max:143 slept:7.5 (injured)

Tried my first pool running session tonight. Decided just to do a steady session for my first try. It was tough when I first started, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Had originally planned to do 30mins, but decided after about 15mins that I would manage 40mins without a problem. After 30mins I tried to push harder for the last 10mins.
I did the session without an aqua-jogger, but think I'll purchase one to make it a bit easier, and that way I should be able to start doing intervals and threshold training quite soon.

Cycle: Turbo tempo 40:03 [4]
ahr:135 max:169 slept:7.5 (injured)

I'd had a pretty rough day at work, so it was quite hard to motivate myself to train this evening. But I managed to get yet another turbo session in. Similar to last time, 5mins W/U, then increasing intensity every 10mins, but added an extra 10mins which was 30s hard, 30s easy. 5mins W/D at the end.
Didn't have so much pain tonight, so I was able to increase resistance more.

Swimming intervals 49:15 [4] 2.5 km (19:42 / km)
ahr:162 max:177 slept:7.5 (injured)

Decided that I was probably ready to start doing swimming intervals, so chose a 400m pyramid:
400m (16 lengths) W/U
1 x 400m
2 x 200m
4 x 100m
2 x 200m
1 x 400m
100m (4 lengths) W/D
I certainly felt that I was able tp push hard, although at the end of the set I felt like I was swimming through treacle instead of water as I seemed to be struggling to make progress!

Road Cycling 32:00 [2]
slept:7.5 (injured) shoes: Northwave Road Cycling Shoes

Cycle to and from physio in York - station to Bannatyne's and back. Was bloody cold and I was a bit scared of ice, but I still seemed to do the jopurney quicker than last time, 16mins each way.

Note
(injured)

Physio note - I haven't caused too much additional damage by mountain biking on friday. We're going to try dynamic stretching (soft tissue release and PNF) and then back to strengthening at the weekend. Suggested trying pool running, so I will try to build it into my programme this week. Hopefully Pooley will also be willing to do some deep massage during the week to aid the healing process some more.
